Default Ever had a snake in your boat??

Was down on my pier yesterday evening with my mom, I was covering the boat, she was just walking the dog around...there was a nest of little birds in the motor of my lift behind the cover a couple days ago...my mom didnt hear the little birds chirping anymore so she pulls the cover off the lift, and last thing i know, her and my dog were booking up the pier, and she was screaming bloody murder, so I start to freak out and i jump off the boat, and there was a 4ft or bigger, black snake curled up in the nest with the birds in its stomach..so i ran and screamed and freaked out...

So my dad goes down on the pier with a shovel and throws the snake in the water..( i wanted him to chop that little suckers head off ) so needless to say we are standing on the pier, just talking and we see the same snake, swim back over to the piling, up my lift, and over to the piling and tries to get back to the lift motor...

I am freaking out, I dont want to even go on the pier anymore, nor do I want to sleep on my boat anymore...anyone else ever had a snake on their boat?? What keeps them away?? Repellent? Fake animals?? They said it was a water mokinson??

Thanks,

Samantha

Not an expert but aren;t water moccasins like shiny black like car paint? There is also something about the way they swim in the water. One snake keeps its head above water and the other doesn;t or something. We don;t get them a ton around here but some.

anything not approved by the EPA??? somthing that will kill them vs just pissing them off? If that thing was on my resin bucket I would have to sell the boat and house.....i hate snakes

i'm getting the heebe-jeebes just thinking about what happened to me last year. My dads neighbor asks me to go look at his O/B fishing boat cause it was having trouble starting...we drive down to the dock and lift the cover half way off just far enough forward that i could sit in the seat and hit the starter switch...wouldnt go.....so i push back the cover some more to get at the throttle....there right behind the handle is a black snake...no more the 1 foot away from me! no idea what it was but i think i made and olympic qualifying jump from out of the seat, over the pass seat and onto the dock cause i dont remember climbing out of the boat! The owner was like...go put the cover back on...and i'm like YOU GO DO IT! Its your boat!!! dont know if he ever used it the rest of the season and i know he had the marina pull the boat out. Later that winter he had the boat in his garage cleaning it out when it was nice and cold and found a 4' snake skin moulting in the boat!

Here's one, they have that kind of diamond pattern and are brownish. Looks like what is in that pic.
