just an FYI but I was told saturday that the stage will be couple hundred yards offshore (2000ft) to prevent land traffic like what happened at tim's 2...

I guess if you get their early to tie up to the pier, you will looking at the back of the barge with the stage on it. For their other events they ususally anchor the barge out from the shore.

2000 Ft would put you close to the middle of the river. Too much wake to try to play an instrument.

Either way won't be there

Just curious why Tim's would want to PREVENT land traffic? Those are the people that are spending $$.

Tim's isn't making any $$ off of people sitting on their boats drinking their own beer.

I won't be going, that's not a great place to swim and it is going to be 95* on sat.

I was told this is a Sea Ray party, the goal is to thank Sea Ray owners and hopefully sell more Sea Ray boats. Once the bar is full that is all the money Tim can make. Even with a poor turn out he will be 100% full. The new Temp floating docks to the right are for the Sea Ray boats. The guys who float offshore and drink there own beer is never a money maker either. Tim loves money so he is doing what he need to do for this event

I heard the floating pier was closed because of permit issues.

James 07-21-2010 02:40 PM

Permits ??? What's that ? this huge runaway floating dock was floating down the river and crashed into some pilings that Tim was storing for a friend in a vertical position near the restaurant. Basically Tim save the world, had the dock gone further south and got hung up on the petroleum pier we would have had Gulf oil II spill to deal with. PWC owes Tim for this heroic effort
