We have done JOTJ every year for last 10 years. As far as numbers at our shoot........single V is 110-113.

I was there this year with my Spectre you guys didn't have a radar gun to use. Something about the boat had to leave on a rescue or recovery mission. I made a few passes, got tired of waiting around and rode down river. Did the gun ever show back up? The other time I went a few years ago was good. But every time I come back at June Parker Marina the tide is out and I loose a water pump due to mud clogging strainers. Is there a deeper ramp somewhere?

Lets not forget about Jeff Bennet. He helps Frankie and Mike every year. He supplys the marker buoys and was the only one at the end I saw removing the buoys and toting the cinder blocks to his truck. Everybody else was too busy doing this------------------

Our radar gun was there. That wasnt the issue. Our dive team had to leave and retrieve the body of a 7 year old boy who had drowned 15 miles down river. We called the event because because if something happened we want a dive team there for driver retrieval. We dont want to put our coast guard permit ,insurance or a life at risk. It was a bad situation. Hopefully next year will be big. June Parker is a pain, we admit. It causes alot of people to not come to our events. People around here still say NOVA/MD boaters should check out the public ramps on the north side of the Rapp. Not much on parking but plenty of water and close to the event. We want you "Potomac" boys at our events, we just wish we had a nice ramp for people!

If I had a 110 mph boat and someone was going to give me $300 and a cool shirt to make a pass, I would be there, within a reasonable distance.

Does Naylors Beach have a ramp? Are there any private ramps that someone may let you pay to use for your event? just asking I don't think Leedstown will work for the bigger boats, just don't know of that many on the Rapp

Naylors does have a ramp. I have heard it is hard to load and unload there. Biggest i have seen go in there is 26' but i can check. As far as personal ramps, we have one that alot of people put in at, but we dont want to wear out our welcome or take advantage of his hospitality. It can possibly be an option sometimes though.
