I just added on to my fleet of boats. I just acquired a new go fast boat.

captaincraiger 09-17-2012 12:41 PM

I just got the boat back from Fiberglass shop. The sunpad lid came out great.I now need to get a cushion made for it. I popped a powerhead last time I was out & now have a new used one on it. I just got it back up & running today. I hope to take it on a sea trial this weekend & then over to the east coast the following weekend. I will get some pictures here tonight.

I thought I saw some where that you guys were talking about a east coast get together. Boat is running great. (knock on wood :party-smiley-004:)

I just got back from a great trip. I took the boat from Clewiston "west side of Lake Okeechobee " to the Gulf of Mexico & back in 1 day. It was a 180 mile round trip. The boat ran Flawlessly.

I bought this Midnight from Craig and am in the middle of restoring it. I'll start another thread but there is also one on donzi.net. with the progress so far.

All the fiberglass work is done. New coring on the old engine room floor, new gussets, bulkheads, cockpit floor, fuel tanks, seats etc. Painter just finishing the dash but the new stripes are re-done in the original pattern, Dark grey, medium grey and silver.
I have to renew my membership, can't post pics.

Hey Rob, couple times, trying to get out again soon. Glazed it and waxed it up. Saw your Pantera at Tom's a little ways back, all good?

Here's the latest on the dash

Stormrider 05-28-2015 08:43 AM

ME is coming along nicely. Been keeping up on donzi.net too.
Tom had my boat for a few days for some minor upgrades.
Tried going to BOCA Sunday, but there's only one dock now and there were 2 large boats tied up. :(
Hope to see you out there!

MDonziM 05-28-2015 05:41 PM

Next time just tie up at the Crabshell, have a beer, and walk next door to Boca.

Marshall what a transformation! ..........all the details coming together in a very well thought out restoration!!......who's doing the upholstery?........very sharp!

fastdonzi 06-17-2015 07:03 AM

Did you stop the wood from going all the way to the Keel when Re-doing the Transom?? I Like it..... I try to Preach this to people all the time... If there's no wood at the Drain plug hole it Can't Rot..... Good Job...... (Stripes look good too :) )

MDonziM 06-17-2015 09:49 AM

Scippy - I have multiple shops working on the upholstery. I used a car resto shop for the dash stuff which I'm happy with, it matches the stripe color in the buckets Thanks, I think it looks sharp too. I hope to take it out of the shed today and clean it up a bit so I will try to get more pics.

fast - Yes, the transom coring stops 5-6" from the keel and there was a good 2" of solid resin between the original layup and the new coring. The rest of the boat we used nidacore so there is no wood near anything structural. How do you like your old stripe design? The new grey twist on the design looks cool imo.

intotwins 06-20-2015 07:27 PM

What are you going to put on the back for power?

MDonziM 06-20-2015 08:00 PM

A pair of freshly rebuilt Promax 300's

intotwins 08-10-2015 08:36 PM

Any new updates?

MDonziM 09-05-2015 08:24 AM

Progress has been slow this summer...Rigging in progress, tabs are mounted, steering lines run, battery wiring etc. Main setback has been with interior/ upholstery work, meeting with new guy this week.

Skater - I would love to talk to your friend about his 32', not many out there. Does he still have it powered with 300's?

Thanks - Marshall

SkaterMike82 09-10-2015 02:22 PM

Ask me what you want to know. He really doesn't know much. Still has the 300 Vrods spinning a 4 blade 23. Boat runs 72 all loaded.

MDonziM 09-19-2015 10:14 AM

I'm surprised at 23"pitch, do verado's have 1.75:1 gears? I was thinking I would need 26-27" pitch. You know what his fuel cap is? Was his always an OB boat?

Any more pictures?

Thanks

ModeratedUser02102018 11-03-2015 06:11 PM

long time coming... great work... i guess theres not much ol school rides out there... im looking to buy one/ bring one back to life.... the new M.E. arent the same, period...😩...

MDonziM 11-07-2015 04:28 PM

Thanks, its been a big project. Not many of these Midnights around as far as I can tell. Only 12-15 or so were made I think and I've only seen/heard of 4. Seems like there are a couple 37's around. What size boat/project are you looking for? Always plenty of 27 Magnum sports out there.
