Beaver Lake Status Report
 

Need some info as been invited next weekend to freinds home on Beaver lake and my question is if the lake is ok to take my 31 cat boat to or is the water down? Someone told me the lake is low water, Is this True? Is it not safe to boat on this lake now? Thanks for any info- James

Lake level will be fine.....The only thing you have to worry about all the tree hugging hippies and Hillbillies shooting @ your boat.....not a very friendly powerboat lake I hear.

Someone said it is a narrow old river but 40 miles long- Is it legal to shoot back?

I think you have been a little mislead. The lake was previosly the White River and was damed in the late 50's. It is part of a long chain of lakes including, Beaver, Table Rock, Tanneycommo and Bull Shoals. It is by no means a huge lake, but you will have pleanty of room to wind it up. I know for a fact that Table Rock is upwards of 200ft deep in the main channel. I believe that Beaver is well over 100. As far as shooting back........bring lots of ammo and let me know how well you do.

THANKS for the info on this lake. I guess I will try it out if not too cold this next weekend. Hope I don't break anything- I do have a garmin chartploter with the inland card so hope to avoid shoals. I will leave the ammo at home and hope the good ol boys are drunk and cant hit a moving target! At WOT, the cat is hard to hit.

You will be fine....as with any of these lakes the danger is close to shore in coves and around points. trees sticking up. Luckly the water is at a level right now that you will see the groups of them and be able to avoid. enjoy

Very nice lake. Clear water and lots of room to open it up. It is in a DRY area so stock up on the Adult beverages before you get to the area. But being from Ltl Rock you prob know.

You guys are cracking me up. I'm amazed at the misinformation in the replies on this thread. Why reply if you don't know?

The lake is probably one of the most beautiful lakes in the Midwest. Table Rock and Bull Shoals easily being the other two that would qualify too.

The lake is NOT narrow. They are VERY power boat friendly. No speed limits. No noise laws. And yes, no alcohol. The majority of the lake is in Benton county which is dry. The southern part of the lake is in Washington county which is a wet county.

Beaver has been my home lake since 1977. I could spend a lot of time typing names of members here who also call it their home lake. Scarabs, Fountains, Pantera, Cigarettes, Formulas, Bajas, Elminators, and so on all come to mind of the many different brands of performance boats that call the lake home. I find it hard to believe that all these boats would be there if it were all that bad.

I would love to give some more truthful information, but it's apparent I'm replying to the wrong thread.....
