Whats the boat traffic been like this year is it about the same or less or more??? My uncle lives on the 17mm and he's telling me he's not seeing the big boats as much this year. He says jet ski's are having a hay day. You guys that live there and look out at the lake every day what do you think? (my uncle has always been full of chit)

Everybody I have talked to says that boat traffic is way down. I was down for a week and it did seem that way also. Weekday traffic is always minimal anyway.

I talked to people who went to party cove last weekend and there was not one houseboat and no gauntlet.

Coconuts, Franky and Louie's, and Captain Ron's all were packed this past weekend. Plenty of boats still running around, but not at the levels of past seasons.

Boat traffic was way down at 4 pm Saturday leaving F&L's when it turned black and hailed on us - you couldn't see past the front of the boat!

There are still plenty of boats out - but spending more time tied up at restaurants and coves instead of running up and down the channel.

We went from the dam to Buck's for a burger, about $250 in gas for a few $3.50 burgers.......priceless!

My cove is a hotspot tubing and the family boat traffic this year is waaaay down. It looks like the big boat traffic in the main channel picked up a bit this past weekend but not quite like prior years. It will be interesting to see if July brings more people out.....

What about in town, traffic, mall, restaurants? Or is it just boating down?

Talking to the business locals vacation rentals etc are down. That would mean the malls and restaurants and town traffic is taking a hit too. On the other hand we are just entering prime vacation season, and the weather this year has been poor. So we will see what the next 6-8 weeks brings.

Nothing better than a buck burger. We talked to them memorial day weekend and they said that they are going to retire after next year.
