Travis Reed is something special. Let me tell you a little story:
I PM'ed Travis the other day about this thread and was pretty nice about the entire thing. I was nice, cordial and complimentary to his machine. I then get these PM's from him. Here's the exchange:
Me to Travis: "Hey, I was reading the email responses on my phone when I replied to the topic. I was confused and corrected what I said prior to your post.
Re-read what I fixed and you'll see the point I was making.
The scarab guy is full of sh!t as the day is long."
Travis to Me:
"were good, my point is I turn the wrenches on some of the baddest boats in the world at Brad's and understand all boats, and would help anyone providing there not player hating. Congrats on your speed thats impressive, and you might be suprised how fast we are in rough water compared to whoever. If I wanted to just go fast on pond water,I'd pull my motors and buy a Skater, and I don't think any 1 boat is better than another......I'm proud of all people who work hard for there boats. Funny I just saw where his daddy bought his boat......now that's funny actually I figured as much. Have a good day!"

Then I get this from Travis:
"check out your smart ass comment on 307 post also WL is totally computer controlled no distribitors eliminates spark skatter at ?? what rpm do you Know??? I do! Also it was far ahead of it's time and is rigged far better than today's boats still, it has all military wire,and all aircraft grade wireing, let alone the hull was made of kevlar and nasa glass. Also the bottom is an apache with some rework,so when you call it old you are mistaken. Funny I can run in stuff at speeds most can only dream of,but you poke fun at her. watch the video of it being built,it has it's own movie! Deep down your a player hater two or you would not make that comment. Funny I have never said one bad thing about your boat or any one elses. Be a sport erase your ****ty post."

So I reply:
"You know what? I don't think I will & here is why. It is my opinion & I don't ever recall one single incident where you have bested anyone in any sort of a speed competition.
You talk the talk yet there is zero evidence you actually walk the walk. I said before I am on your side, but you've got to see how it looks from the outside looking in.
Sure the boat has a pedigree of sorts, but that is it. It is a nice boat with a very cool history and I have said that time and time again. There are lots and lots of stories of how "bad" it is, which it is an impressive piece of hardware but nothing to back it up in the performance department. Never once has it ran the shootout that I am aware of. Never once has anyone said they hooked up on the water and had their a$$ waxed by you. Nothing of the sort.
I will not apologize for my comment, nor will I take it back. It is the truth and you are the one that has to prove otherwise, not to me for any reason, but to curtail all the BS surrounding the boat and you, it's owner.
Be proud of what you have & wear a thicker skin. When you put yourself and equipment on a pedestal there will always be those looking to topple your tower.

And he replies:
"go **** yourself I assure you my skin is much thicker than yours!!!!!!!!!!! I've never said anything about being the fastest and would never run the shootout, I'd buy a cat boat (Skater) and put my power in it. I'm done with you!"

And for what it's worth, I though I was being the nice guy and giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Then to tell me to go f*ck myself over something like that? Please....I have an ex-wife that treats me better than that.
