Default Lodging on Beaver Lake, AR

I don't want to hijack the other AR thread in General Boating Discussion, so I'll start new.

We're talking about having a group of friends hit Beaver Lake next year. I've been on Beaver Lake on two separate occasions in 2003 and 2005, but I'm looking for some different suggestions for lodging. Looking for something close to the water (on it, as much as a place can be "on" Beaver Lake) with docking provisions for maybe 5 boats. If we have to split up, that might be workable as well, as long as we're not TOO far away. Something up closer to the dam in the Eureka Springs area would work best, as a friend of ours has a place up that way and he'll be down as well.

I've looked a bit on VRBO and did some google surfing. Just thought the powerboaters on here might have something to add.

TIA

There is a place by Rockey Branch marina. I cant remember the name. It is cheap, but I think they have been remodeling. And you can keep the boat at the marina. Not to many places on the lake with docks.

Haven't come up with a date yet, but leaning right now toward sometime in July or early August. I'm coordinating with a few folks. Since it's not LOTO, we can include some ski boat friends in the mix for cruising the lake, which is nice. 4 interested boats so far. I'll keep ya posted.

I've seen a couple places mention the marina as being close, so it might be one of them. I'll keep that in mind while I'm looking. Thanks!

Keytime,

Get with Cattitude or INXS here on OSO. That is my home lake, but they both live there. I can tell you the marinas but couldn't tell you anything about the lodging due to the fact that it's driving distance for me.

Hey, Buck. I dropped a PM to INXS but Cattitude can't be PM'd.

This doesn't look too shabby: http://www.lakeshorecabins.net/index.html And dock provisions for the back half of the boat.

Haven't been there myself but it looks nice.

It's on the north end of the lake. This will put it close to Eureka Springs. That would make it nice for an evening dinner or an afternoon shopping trip. Short drive.

That part of the lake is by the dam so the water will be much more clear. That end of the lake is very popular for scuba diving due to the water clarity. I've seen times when you can see down in excess of 10-12' or more up there.

I don't think you could go wrong with any part of the lake for scenery.

I guess Cattitude hasn't reupped his membership. He's been pretty involved with his racing lately. I'll keep an eye out for him.

Let me do some work investigating lodging with docks. I must tell you, there is not much since this lake is a Army Corp lake. They govern everything that is on their property which has limited resorts and cabins. However, there are cabins and possibly a resort available towards the dam (and Eureaka). I"ll do some reserch and post back on this thread.

The resort at Rock Branch marina is Tanglewood. Its not much, however, overnight slips are available in the marina. Tanglewood and Rock Branch marina are not affiliated with each other, but are located together in the same cove. Rocky Branch marina is basically located in the middle of the main part of the lake.

May take me a little time, but I will post back here.
