Gladiator/Fountain

Saw the beautiful blue/white Gladiator and 47 Fountain runnin this weekend. Gladiator shut down around the 9 mm with its hatch up. What happened? Boats both sounded great when they passed.

Griff 11-09-2010 04:42 PM

I'm guessing that was eddie in the 47 Fountain and redbud35 in the Gladiator.

Looks like I only have two days of boating left this week, going to be in the 50's this weekend. You still going to make it down this weekend?

JaayTeee 11-11-2010 12:38 PM

That was a fun run...could have been a little more
bumpier though.

We pulled the engines out of the Cig last night.....now
the fun starts;)

Shallow Minded 11-11-2010 04:48 PM

Which Cig, if you don't mind me asking...

No kidding, what a boat! That thing is truely amazing. Wish the Gopro POS would have been on for the run to Cap Ron's.

Very close from what I have seen posted by them.
The Fountain has an extra 500efi in it compared to the Gladiator. Lots of pics of both boats on MWBP.

I'm 81 GPS with triple 500 EFI's and the Glad is running 92 GPS with 525 EFI's two different animals. Last Saturday the run we did to Captian Rons we didn't come under 70 much. The 44SL did some 116 mph passes and came by us like we were standing still. It was a fun day.

updates? How many hours were on the 500's? I've got 250 just wondering when I need to start thinking about head gaskets, etc. Adam's went around 450 hours I think.

Just short of 400.
The only thing that looked a little iffy was that the
head gaskets didnt look so good inbetween the cylinders.

Still could see the cross hatching in the cyl walls.

Didnt notice any broken valve springs, the lifter
rollers felt good, havent tore into the heads since they
may not be going back on them;)

I dont know how Jeff ran it, or how the previous owner before him ran it, but I do know that since Aug 09', it's been worked pretty hard, and they look pretty daam good, so
judging by how these look, I'd say you shouldnt have to worry for a while

redbud35 01-11-2011 09:27 PM

He won't have it long enough to get into it anyway.:evilb:

Von Bongo 01-12-2011 11:57 AM

Eddie my 500s went 475 before I rebuilt them although the heads were done.at.250 and 350 and even then we didn't bore them.

That boat spent several of its first years in fresh water and the owner took real good care of it.

Yes the boat has been well taken care of...you know the history on it ?

I thought that I heard it was in the Miami boat show when
it was new.

There' one that looks just like it on the "jump" video.

There's evidence it spent a little time in salt water,
but nothing too bad.
