Our permits in place, we will start getting the stops lined up the Overland Park boat show. Some of the bars/resturants close for winter. We will post more details as we have them.

We have ten stops, several flights of boats and one heck of a good time. If that sounds good you will be fine. Last year we raised a ton of $$$$ for Operation Home Front, hope to do it again this year.

There were plenty of people who did the run the past few years with boats smaller and slower than yours. The run is on Friday this year and the water will be calm. Your size and speed should not be a reason not to attend. You can pick 5 of the 10 stops and go as far and as fast as you want.

Its a great event. I know that I wouldn't miss it.

JaayTeee 01-18-2011 12:59 PM

Does Bill Holder know about this ?

I cant wait:drink:

I say we have a raft up infront of his place on Sat. since (because of him) the run is on Friday this year.

Maybe he can set up a big screen and show all the footage that he has shot of 200mph v-bottoms harassing bass fisherman, woman and children.

44MTI 01-24-2011 09:37 AM

Is there going to be a speed limit on this run.

eddie 01-24-2011 09:48 AM

speed limit

The Missouri water patrol has a speed limit with every regatta permit they issue. We had a speed limit every year of 60 as noted at the drivers meeting, this year will be a little different because they tell us they will be enforcing it.

This year we did get the nood for 70.

While for some you 70 is a walk in the park; others, it's plenty. The end result is we got a permit issued, hope to raise money for the charity and have a safe day on the water making new friends and hanging out with old ones. :drink:

redbud35 01-24-2011 04:05 PM

Looking forward to it Ed.

Nice job Ed, look forward to it.

How's the water for this event? Was told last year it was pretty rough. Is it safe to assume that since its on a Friday, it should be ok for 28ft velocity?

This is us about a couple miles after the start .

And somewhere, there's a pic of John P's boat waay out of the water too.

Since it's on Friday this year, the cruiser traffic should be
as bad tho.

That is one of the best pics! Black Thunder should have that one front and center on thier website.

We are hoping to make it this year. I always say that and then something comes up. I just have a 24 footer, but hopefully I can keep up.

We don't need any problems with the water patrol or anyone else on the lake. We are making it very clear we have a 70 MPH speed limit and want to have a safe, fun run and do it again next year.

I know all about problems with the WP. Just kind of a joke. But it will keep alot of people with a fast boat out. Just sucks.

I hope we make the bridge this year at any speed.:lolhit:

So do we all just take off at the same time no more flights based on speed? My boat might almost go 70mph with the freshened power LOL..

I agree it's not ideal, but I'd rather have the boats that want to run hard know what we are up against than show up and be upset with us.

I'd think we will still have them broken up so it's not a free for all. Not sure how we will divide them yet.
