Table Rock Lake?

Do any of you mid-western guys spend any time at Table Rock? I was just in Branson and fell in love with this lake... Is this a cold water lake? Are there many go fast boats that go there?

Gunner 02-21-2012 03:59 PM

I have a house on Table Rock we love it. Water is clean, temp is like all the other lakes in Mo I would say. Not to many go fast but there are some down by Kimberling City.

Hands down best lake in MO. Our boat might go a little fast if it ever gets done..lol. There are several Fountains, Bajas, Some Formulas, a couple DCB's, some clamp on Skaters and an Outerlimit new as of last year. I have been boating on this lake for over 30 years and have been on every other in the state. While its not as populated as LOTO..its also not a cess pool either.

Give it a try..you wont be dissapointed.

OSO member Jason Smith lives somewhere down in your neck of the woods, and he knows alot about Table Rock.

From TRL505- "While its not as populated as LOTO..its also not a cess pool either."

LOTO is far from a cesspool (you must read the Kansas City papers). Both lakes have thier benefits and drawbacks. Table Rock is defintely clearer water.

Hmmm... LOTO is quite nice from our point. But I wouldn't dive into party cove with your mouth open.

Table Rock is a very nice lake, and so is LOTO. The water at Table Rock is way clearer but neither can be defined as a cesspool by any means.

midmo 02-25-2012 11:07 AM

We are at Table Rock almost every weekend. If you are loking for property let me know i have a couple lake front lots left with boat slips within walking distance.

Always a great time and really clean water. We are in the Indian Point area.

JasonSmith 02-25-2012 11:33 AM

Table Rock is really nice. It offers zero of what LOTO offers & that is just fine by me!
We like it so much that my family has a home & a houseboat on the lake.
By far the best end of the lake is the Shell Knob area. You will never find a time when you wish you had a bigger boat due to rough water & you'll certainly find a more family friendly atmosphere than most lakes.
We enjoy the lake & will drive the 8 hours from DFW to Kimberling City as often as we can.

JasonSmith 02-25-2012 11:44 AM

I forgot to add that we spend at least a week around July 4th up there. Several years ago we had a pretty decent get together up there. I think we had about 15 boats. Nothing that was organized except the beer in the coolers and that didn't last too long.
I think I'll try to get another group together this summer about the same time.

Keep me up to date on the one this summer. If I'm off work, I'll bring the boat/family down. After hearing all the guys at work brag about how clear the water is down there, I have put Table Rock on the "to do" list this year.

I absolutely love Table Rock. Have been going there with my family for 20+ years. Ahhh, the old Aunts Creek days! About a 5 hours drive from us and will do it in a heartbeat. Let us know when you plan to go and what resort. Very large lake, very clear, still good marinas and such, and you cant beat the people for sure. Everybody is normally good to lend a hand when needed. Has its busy spots but its just so damn big its hard to notice. One thing I cant remember, does baxter or kim city areas have any premium??

91 only....no 93.

JasonSmith 02-28-2012 07:46 PM

I thought KC only has 89? I don't typically pay attention when they are pumping out the sh!tter on the big boat.

Jason,

Looks like kimberling city marina and docks have major damage. Are you guys alright over there?

The house in Shell Knob lived, but I don't think the HB at Kimberling will be so lucky. I understand that it sustained some damage, but I haven't seen pictures yet. My folks are on the way over to look. Glad it's theirs, not mine.

Glad your house in Shell Knob made it with no damage. We got pretty lucky considering the surronding areas.

Its nice to hear all the complements about Shell Knob. I was born and raised in Shell Knob and still only live about 15 minutes away. My family owns a small boat dealership in Shell Knob so we spend quite a bit of time there. Hope you all are able to make it down to TRL this sumer!

There are a few Eliminators too.

We are planning on flying up tomorrow afternoon. I've gotta shop for boat storage too...suggestions?
B, what's the plan Saturday? We are headed to 21 to see some friends.

That place up the hill from the marina has some big indoor units. My parents keep their deckboat in there. But for something your size, people may have reserved for Coachs.

We plan on just taking kids out on boat for tubing Sat & Sun Mon i am taking them to SDC.

midmo 05-29-2012 03:30 PM

Jason,
On the water or dry storage?

I have an extra 30' slip and an extra 24' you could use if you need one.

Indian Point area

Was thinking dry stack, but the Swansons apparently think $12k a year we already pay in slip rental isn't enough to do a month-to-month agreement in dry-stack. They want 12 months. For the 3 months I was going to leave the boat there that totals about $1k a month for storage.

Brett,
Ive been there several times with my Black Thunder and see one other BT flat deck. I spoke with the guy and I think he has a shop in Kimberling City.

BDiggity 05-31-2012 09:51 AM

did anyone see the all white one at specialized? looked to be around 40+. thought it was a fountain, but no beak.

That is the same flat deck...its owned by the owners son of Specialized...Tyson.

There used to be a 46 on the lake several years ago....as far as I know Tysons is the only BT down there now.

TROR 06-09-2012 12:30 PM

Hey fellas, I grew up on TRL and have been to LOTO lots. TRL is a far better lake if you want to enjoy the lake. If you want to see & be seen, LOTO. TRL still has some "hang out" spots like the swing, but be careful especially on holiday weekends, the Hypo has several boats and I have even seen them block the entire lake on both sides of the party spot and check for sober drivers or lack thereof. I live in Colorado now &the the only lake that's even close as cool as TRL is Powell. Just my 2 cents. Btw, my screen name is TROR, Table Rock Off Road. I kept the name when I moved to Colorado.

tbirdusa 06-10-2012 06:50 PM

Trl.... Guessing you are in the electric biz ya? Buddy of mine tells me you are always banging on loto. Your buddy at the 55 has some nice water, what makes that area a cess pool? I dig table rock for what it is but its 2 different scenes, and 2 hours further to boot.

1. No Im not in the electrical biz.
2. 1MM or 55MM...it is all $hitbox water..you cant see your feet when you swim...nasty.
3. 2 hrs if you are driving in reverse...Its no more than 45 minutes no matter where you are going on TRL or LOTO.

I have spent lots of time on both lakes...no question as to the fact that TRL is the better lake, better food, more things to do. LOTO has twi things....Bada$$ boats and the Shootout. Other than that It does nothing for me. To each their own....

Knot 4 Me 06-12-2012 07:52 AM

LOTO's water was much cleaner in the late 90's - early 2000's. Could easily see your feet. It hasn't been nearly as clean as it used to be the last several years. I need to get to TRL someday.

F-2 Speedy 06-12-2012 12:11 PM
