looking at it we wont be too far from toads and shady gators LOL...didn't even look at that till today. We looked for a large home on the water with boat slips with plenty of rooms and bathrooms for all of us and the young adult kids...every other year we go on family vacation with my parents, my 2 brothers , sister and brother-in-law and our young kids (all are 19-26 now)

I don't think you will have an issue on the back roads like thistle. You should be able to get to Toads and Gators from where you are at in a golf cart. The only part questionable is Bittersweet, but that part of Bittersweet isn't a main road, most of the traffic on it back there is going to those restaurants. As you move closer to HH on Bittersweet it widens and is one of the main roads that has more traffic that moves faster. The only caution I would suggest is at night time, when people are drinking. Those roads back there are hilly and wind around quite a bit.

On the weekends you will find quite a few people coved out together and swimming in Witches Cove - the long cove at the 4MM. We are in the furthest back part of that cove, you can watch the golfers putt out on the 13th green.

Apparently Google maps calls it Downing Branch Cove. Never noticed that before. Everyone local calls it Witches Cove.

Tell her not to worry. Early June will be way different. Weekend will be nothing like Shootout weekend. And during the week there will be few boats out. You may want to check out Backwater Jack's this time there. They put up a new pool/bar which is quite nice. One of the better places to eat off water is Casablanca. It is more of a locals place down on the strip. Very good food, and probably the best pizza at the lake. Reasonably priced for food and drink.
