My current 30 Motion I installed new XLPE (Cross-linked Polyethylene) fuel tanks, 75 gals each. This material is good with fuel with any amount of ethanol. I also move the new tanks back 5 feet to improve the handling of the boat. This made the boat ride much better than my other motions. Then I cut the tops off the old tanks and refinished cut edges.

5' is quite a CG change....Do you have Ballast tanks ?
I would endorse your decision for Polyethylene tanks.

I do have one in the bow but I have never needed to fill it. After alot of changes to setup and new props the boat is now balanced perfect and runs great!

Interesting....although the 30 I raced was a 94' I moved the fuel tanks 18" forward for perfect balance.....
I think Motion probably moved the tanks over the years. I found balance was also affected by variables like if you are running short shaft offshore motors, standoffs or jacks, etc. At one point I even had both batteries up in the front!
