Look's great
Are you reusing the windshields? |
Great job, I think its going to look better.Does the center brace block a lot of your view?
|
I am going to reuse the windshields. New is about $10k. I actually like the semi race boat look of those compared to the full on pleasure version which would not have the painted upper edge or the fastner holes. I will use the button style fastners with a backer on the top of the windhield. I think it will look cool. I find the F16 style quarter canopy windshields much more obstructive than what MTI uses. The center post or the side posts are not an issue at all when you sitting behind the wheel.
The cockpit will be painted to match the boat and bring the paint scheme into the boat with matching carpet. |
Brad the boat looks great I cant wait to see it this summer all painted. Great job:ernaehrung004:

did you ever get your grab handles figured out? Was this the boat you were trying to figure out how to fab some?
|
The grab handles are going in a 24' Daytona I bought. The Daytona is a 110 mph outboard hot rod. Doing a complete restoration on that boat in a theme of a Ford GT40. I love those small go fasts.
|
Love the small fast boats! My last two were allisons. One was actually the fastest v, in 1997 at 129 and the second was the boat built to beat it. It was radared at 120 off the bottle, but they never got the set up just right. They were aiming at 150!!! I need to create some handles for a friends 26' AO. I was thinking of designing some linear actuated ones. I manufacture stainless and carbon products, specifical dealing in thin wall tubing, so i have benders out the wazzu, let alone lasers, and anything else to build some parts.

With spring getting close it was time to speed up the conversion. Mitcher T in Michigan did the paint work. 85 hours of shop labor to get the paint cockpit to look like this. I will post more pics when the interior and windshields are installed.
