48 Mti

Anyone know how many there are now and how fast the CMS boat is running and under what power?

TeamTaboo 08-13-2009 01:07 PM

CMS has a pair of 1500hp Sterlings top speed N/A yet, but they did 187 in the kilo in Sarasota with speed left on the table because of bumpy water

Sean H 08-13-2009 02:12 PM

there is a pleasure 48 with 1550 sterlings that TNT rigged out there too.

There are so many that Gary has done it's hard to make a list. I think Loony Tunes has to be at the top of my list, but the Batman boat is probably the most difficult project he's ever done.

That 48 isn't a theme boat it's just bad as f@ck.

But Speedy will always be my fav Theme Boat.

That's some real good speed with 1500's. Can't wait to see if Turbine Marine will get the call to rig one up and then have that boat run against a Mystic. Might be a little bit of a drag race there. Any pics of CMS in action?....I just love that boat. Thanks.

I believe the actual speed was 188 and change with a strong crosswind and more to go. This was the first test above 180.
Only the 2 out running right now. One more at the factory being rigged and should be at the shootout on display and possibly giving test runs. Two more sold to customers moving up. One will be at the Miami boat show.
I think Randy would also like to see one with tubines racing against the Mystics. Just need someone to step up.

OL40SVX 08-16-2009 06:36 PM

I believe Albert is getting one.

Why the downgrade?

CaptJohnT 03-03-2010 10:23 PM

I rode the boat with the 1075's and its way fast and the guy that bought it is a first time cat owner. IMHO a great step to a cat, it handles like its on rails and the 1075's are plenty for a light 48 like that one. He ran with us (Z044) all the way back from Islamorada to miami with no problem.

Couch Racin 03-16-2010 10:34 PM

Does anyone have any high res photos of the 48 that was at Miami?

Loved the paint on it.

IT WOULD TAKE A LOT TO UPSET THAT BOAT BELOW 150
MPH 1ST CAT PROBABLY NOT 1ST PERFORMANCE BOAT

I did not mean to imply he wasn't, I just worded it wrong. I've read where even very experienced cat owners say they still learned something from a school like Tres Martin's.

Very True. When the boat was delevered Randy Scism was in the boat with them showing him how to drive it. They were in good hands. I had a friend in the back seat sending me photos and video of the first sea trial.

Catmando 05-14-2010 06:44 PM

If anyone knows about driving and throttling a big cat it would be Randy. Can you post some of those pics and vids? I'm sure we'd all like to see them. :)

It's actually covered up and inside now. Must be moving up the food chain.

schnydo 05-18-2010 08:34 PM

44MTI 05-19-2010 09:32 AM

Don't know, got bad fuel and lost a motor first time out. That's why its back at the factory.
