no scoops, you dont have to ram the air in the 1350s - there are vents in the back to let air in, but not to ram it in

The 48 is a 44 stretched 4 ft, and 1 ft added to the tunnel. So it is closer to a true 44 with a 4 ft bussel.
Merc requires a specific intake system to make 1350hp, they make 1300 running a normal enine compartment.
Windship will be in the MTI booth, along with a couple of very SPECIAL new MTI's. All with 1350's.

"The in-boat endurance testing with Cigarette revealed we can make 1350 horsepower without the packaging complexity of direct air induction, previously thought as a requirement."

I saw the air intakes in the pics posted of windship. Does merc still prefer to use the direct/ram air intake if possible? Not trying to start anything, just curious.

How many RPM's are these 1350's running and what gears ratio in the drive and what pitch prop to get this boat in the 175 mph range?

Spoke with John, the owner of Windship. He will be at the Tennessee River Rally Poker Run July 16th, 2011.

I can't wait to see this machine running on the Tennessee River! Oh heck, I think everyone should come to this event and see this!
