Default MTI boat builds

How many boats does MTI produce a year? A good friend of mine (intelligent guy) said he was told by 2 people that they "complete" 50 boats every single month. He said they weren't building a complete boat in 30 days, but they are completing 50 boats every month. I'm not sure what that means, This seems like a very high number to me and I can't wrap my head around it. Can someone give me some insight?

AND, by the way, their boats are literally works of art!!!

Just read an article that says they delivered 11 boats in 11 weeks so far in 2021.

Quoted from the article...."Our target this year is 48 boats, basically four boats a month,” said Scism

Even one a week is a hoppin' schedule with that variety in the line-up and caliber of finished product put out the door.

Yeah, so to do 50 a month.

I guess someone misinterpreted the article.

Everybody has seen the values of 2000 and newer Cigarettes skyrocket in the last couple of years because of the scarcity of them and the fact that Cigarette has built very few performance boats since around 2008. I would think that the MTI’s will most likely do the opposite, and resale will go in the tank because there’s so many of them.

yes and no............MTI I/O stuff is going to be on the declining side of the equation (just like Nortech did) but the OB stuff is going to stay strong/get stronger as the performance numbers keep rising and the long warranties keep the I/O stuff lower demand.

I've got a buddy looking to buy a 34/39 OB. His last TS TG was a nice boat but headers/drives were always a worry and the boat was thirsty. He sold before rebuilds. He can't believe the 34 gets 1.5X better mileage and runs 30+ mph faster than the TG. He would lose his mind paying for a 1100/1350 + #6 refresh once nevermind more than that! The OB MTI is the perfect boat in his mind right now.

Cash Bar talked to him last week in regards to the 34 MTI, he then went to TNT for a test drive. He asked me if I knew anyone with a 34 and I put him in touch with Greg.

When he takes delivery I'll likely be running the boat home with him (75 miles or so) since he keeps it on a lift (no trailering).
