St Pete - You Had To See It To Believe It!

What a day.

I was lucky enough to be in a helo to shoot this run.
The wind had been whipping through the Gulf for days and the water in Tampa Bay proved it.
It looked like 4-6's from the air, but I'll bet that nasty stuff felt bigger in a boat.

This shot sums up the day.
Mercedes-Benz, Aqua Mania and Pure Platinum all coming to the same conclusion at the same time: F@#K THIS!!! :drink:
You can see how far into the gulf it took them to reach the U-turn conclusion.

My pilot was fighting the wind all day- trying to hold position and could not turn into the wind-
we had to go the long way around every time, and couldn't go too low for obvious reasons.

Quite a memorable day, especially for the 8 rough riders that managed to make it to the lunch stop!

I heard yes- it was one of the eight. No surprise considering the innovative design of that thing.
It was explained to me at the party on Friday that the whole interior- floor and seats - rides on a big air cushion. It moves.
Well... it was definitely moving on Saturday. :drink:
