Another one from the bridge...

I don't go into the general section very often. I guess that would be a good reason why I didn't see it. :lolhit:
Nice pics. Thanks for the link. |
Wowzers! Love the pics! Thanks for the conversation starters when people see my background photo on my phone! Thanks! ;-)

I've been spending more time lately going back through some old and not-so-old folders. I really have been fortunate these last few years... doing what I do. If there's one thing that really bothers me... it's that I never seem to have the time to really look, I mean really look at all the shots. In addition to the real and perceived pressure to post (self-imposed), there's always a bit of burn-out going on. This varies... usually depending on how many shots I have processed that particular week, or how many frames I shot over the last weekend. So, recently if I start to feel myself getting that road rash feeling, I will go into a folder I haven't visited in a while and dig around for nuggets. :cool-smiley-011: Wouldn't mind being here right now. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3851/...120e548f_o.jpg LARGE VIEW ONE LOVE |

I needed a break- the last few years I've been hitting it so hard in the summer that I'm completely burned out by the fall. Remember when I did 8 straight events a few years ago? I do. :thankyouthankyou: I learned something from that. :lolhit: Think on this: I've only missed two Ft Myers Offshore runs since we started the club in 2006. Those events are nearly as much work as any of the others, just without the travel. So, what that means is I am doing this all year long and have been for SEVEN YEARS now. Nobody else can say that, they don't even come close. No complaints, though. If I didn't enjoy what I do, I wouldn't do it. :ernaehrung004: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3280/...05ebf9b2_o.jpg |

Here's a shot from one of the first runs I ever went to- got up at 4:30 and drove 300 miles to stand on a bridge I wasn't supposed to stand on. :lolhit: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3874/...28b44687_o.jpg |
It looks like a surrealistic painting! That is just the coolest thing I've ever seen from a photo! Respect!

I tend to get bored with the same old stuff and this is a completely new look that feels kinda cool. I've been experimenting and it works best when there is a lot of rooster and/or wake, my processing brings out contrast and detail in water anyway and this filter really adds something to it, IMHO. Different isn't necessarily better, but the change is nice. For now. :cool-smiley-011: Here's one more. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3843/...0392c5dc_o.jpg VIEW LARGE |

my printers use pigment inks that are good for the application. Some sample ideas up there. Here's the first printed shirt with the print file shown on the left. I found some supposedly 'softest' transfer material in the world from a supplier. After some comparison testing, it is very soft- feels like textile ink. Stay tuned! I need to wash the test prints a few times. http://imageshack.com/a/img909/9006/SxwLJa.jpg There seem to be a lot of possibilities... http://imageshack.com/a/img540/3076/6Jyew9.jpg |

The soft transfer material is available in rolls, so instead of being limited to 11x17 images, we can go big. Good for any l-xl-xxl shirt... the potential is kinda interesting. This shows a couple of examples more to scale- I see the print being about 15x22 on an xxl. It will be as big as I can get it and make it look good. http://imageshack.com/a/img537/6465/jqqcoE.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img911/5503/510j48.jpg On the big ones I'll probly put my logo on the sleeve. |
