Ft Myers Offshore - All Time Favorites
Back in January '06, I never would have guessed that some casual conversation between a few local performance boaters here on OSO would develop into the family we now know as Ft Myers Offshore. I've made some fantastic friends and we all have some great memories of times spent together on the waters of Southwest Florida.
Much of the credit goes to my good friend, Bob Barnhart, whose devotion and tireless efforts have guided our direction from the start, but just as importantly it is the ever-growing group of friends that make the club what it is.
The threads about our events tend to get buried in the archives, so I thought a thread here would be a cool way to bring a little attention to FMO, and a way to share some of my favorite shots from the last 5 years.
It started with a question:
that had been brought about by a photo that Bob had posted (modified for fun):
Note: Bob and I had been thinking along parallel lines, although he actually had a boat, several boats. The photo was from a run he had organized with a bunch of his boating buddies from the area (he knows everybody). At the same time, I had been doodling with a logo and an idea for some sort of organization to what I had seen as a loose knit group of boaters in our area. When Bob posted his story about the run, I decided to pose the question here on OSO.
That post started a very active thread, and when it hit 10,000 views I started bugging Steve to give us our own forum.
The rest, as they say, is history.
And I've got pictures to prove it.

From our most famous event so far: the benefit run for Jennifur Moulter on Feb 3, 2007. Overwhelming support from the offshore community.
