Sarasota Suncoast SBI 2010 - PHOTOS

Rained all the way there this morning.
Rained all morning in the pits.
Rained on the beach for the first hour and a half I was there.

Then it stopped.
Then there was boat racing in Sarasota. :evilb:

Here's the shot of the day.
View the large size here.

Fabulous action shot !!!!

How close would they have been to one another there ????

Clouds made the day a bit cooler than normal. That was a good thing, but the light was constantly changing and played tricks with white balance all day.

These guys all look good in any light. :drink:

They aren't as close as they look.
The camera can fool you on a photo like that because of a phenomenon called foreshortening. They were 100yds away from the beach.

My best guess- 20 ft minimum, probably more.

jayboat 07-04-2010 09:54 PM

There were some birds on the beach, too. :drink:

I was amazed at how many people were on the beach early when it was still raining. And they kept on coming.

Sarasota has the best race fans anywhere. :drink:

Here's the sequence of the Amsoil spinout. Loved watching those two bang it all day- good stuff.
