Most important is that the drivers are fine. Shame that such a great race boat-turned exhibition boat was lost.
Now it is time for some top-down management of the offshore racing world. These guys are the tops. Build a new boat that several others can duplicate to create real, competitive racing. I have no doubt the Geico team would still prevail, but there would be some great battles along the way.
Have always been a fan, pretty sure the lemons presented are already being squeezed to make some tasty lemonade.

1st I've heard of this 
We were out boating all day yesterday. Glad to hear that Marc and Scotty are OK, that's most important thing here. The boat can and will be replaced, and then these 2 need for SERIOUS speed fellows will back on the water, and running out front!

Im not seeing the karma or the ouch cuz knowing Scotty and Marc, they would still like to see their friends come to Sarasota and bring their boats to run or to hang out ..... and knowing their friends/fellow racers, they'd love to be there.....

Prolly the high pressure turbine disk went thru the case. Went the cycle of a 4 stroke engine is broken its just shuts down. When turbine engine cycles are interrupted you get one hell of a fire. If you remove suck, squeeze,bang, blow=fire. Damn shame it tore up such a badass boat. But don't quote me, just what I think may have happened
