No chopper shots today.
The FAA wouldn't clear the helo for takeoff because of 'limited visibility'.

Oh, well- go with the flow... more coming tomorrow, it's party time at Ronnie's.

Hi Brad!

I saw you go by me on your way to the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair, Skaterfest was running late in fact when I saw you coming back around 1:20 PM or around there I thought that we missed it. Shortly after you went by the boats came by around 1;30 PM. This year there was no helo with Jay behind the lens and not as many boats as last year. I thought that I'd see US1 and Reliable Carriers again this year along with many others but they we missing in action. Seen about a dozen boats go by and it was great to watch and hear them. I noticed that ryder638 had some kind of a problem and had the hatches up by Belle Isle but got it going again. Weather ended up being great with no rain. To bad you didn't get any video this year Brad but maybe next year. I happened to get some pictures and some of your boat when they fly by me and some of you. I left a message for you on page 2 of General Boating Discussion post # 27 but I guess you didn't read it.

THANK YOU!

I wanted to thank Ronnie Szolack, owner of Flight Club for putting on the Lake St. Clair Skaterfest again this year. Although you guys were running late and the boat count was down it is still a great way to spend some time by the water watching these beautiful Skaters roaring by. I love watching them coming up the Detroit River from the Ambassador Bridge in front of Downtown Detroit and Downtown Windsor and as usual the rooster tails were flying high. I also want to thank ( low psi ) from OSO who every year comes to take some video of Skater fest on the Detroit River. Unfortunately he wasn't able to video the run this year as it was running late. Big thanks you to all who help make Skater fest happen especially those Skater owners who made a commitment to come and enter this event. 711 sure sounded good and was flying, did you have new power this year? ryder638 looked and sounded great. Thank you everyone again for putting on a great show for all of us and it was great that the rain held off.

Thanks for the great offer Jim, your generousity speaks about who you are and I have had many of rides in your great looking boat over the years on OSO. One of my favorites was on the Detroit River (Video). I'll send you an email. Thanks again.

AB,

I did get your message and I did try calling you on channel 9 a few times but no reply..... I called around 11:30 before I got to the bridge.... Oh well. I was out in St Clair for a while and my daughter was getting impatient. So we decided to head home at 1:00pm. Sure Enid as soon as I got to the Boblo dock, I turned around and here them come.... I did get some video, as once I saw the boats, I turned around and headed back up river to catch their return pass.....

I had read, maybe on te other thread there was close to 30 boats registered..... Did many of them not show because of weather? Oh well. Always next year. I will post my video later this week. Hoping to get out into Erie this afternoon........
