You turn on the key whn you drain the oil to remove the oil from the accumulator. Fill the engine, run it and top it off as the oil will be forced into the accumulator.

What is the estimated install time? Where does the accumulator plumb into the system? Is there any way to direct the pressurized oil to the front journals of the crank and rods which are the last to be pressurized by the oil pump? I need 2 by the way!

Usually they tap into the boss for the oil pressure sender with a tee. Anywhere there is a tap you could run the hose.
Install time is as long as it takes to mount the cylinder, tap into a switched lead to open/close solenoid with either switch or key operation and then tie into oil system.
