Default Nor-Tech Engines rumor control

There have been rumors of late that Ron Potter, our Director of Engine Development, was leaving Nor-Tech to start his own engine shop. It is true that Ron had considered a move. However Ron has agreed today that he will remain with us for what we all hope will be many years to come.
Ron and his team will continue to produce all of our existing and successful line of engines and will also focus on newer technologies to enhance the existing line up.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Ron or myself.

Im glad to hear that Ron is staying on. Maybe you or Ron can give me your thoughts on this. I just ordered a new 06 36 cat from randy, i think its mold 56 coming out of the mold in the next week i think. anyways because of your quality engines im going with the 900 nortechs, my concerns are intercoolers or no intercoolers, am i better off with just the 850 without? your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Intercoolers are a nice saftey net for your engines. A side benefit is more horsepower. 850hp w/o coolers is on the edge Go for the 900's if they include the coolers.

Hey impactme, welcome aboard!
The 900 includes the coolers. As Brad said the intercoolers are nothing but good. No downside other than you need to flush them once in a while. More horsepower and helps to maintain the power when it's hot and humid.
Look forward to building your boat!
BTW, you're in the mold now.

What happens when the inter-cooler "springs" a leak internally. How do you catch it before it "springs" the parts?

Waiting is the worst part. In the line, in the mold, in the rigging. But worth it I GUESS. Only because the girls like cat's ????? Or is it the guys.

I have in the past worked under Ron. He really cares how his motors look from appearance to building. Good to hear Nor-Tech...
