2005 36 supercat "Catz Meow" for SALE
#32
They do have a little hop from 70 to 90 if you don't stand on it but most cats do. But Octocat which is Frank Lindeberrys 3600 is running 16.25 37 props and says there is no hop period. I'll be cutting my props down shortly. And I hope it's mine your looking at. I am going to a Turbine powered shaft drive MTI . 200mph++ is on my mind.

Since you don't have to push it hard to cruise fast your engines will work much less too reducing maintenance expesnes. If you boat at least 100 hrs per year your fuel savings could go a long way towards paying that insurance premium.

although i am now a "beek boater" (dont be mad that i am in your thread
) i find it very interesting some of the input and concerns. i have never run a Nor-Tech but have run Talon / Hustler, Skater and most recent MTI with 1075's. All great boats, yes they have a hop at some point but the effort to drive, get up and going is night and day compared to V. Best example; 42 Fountain with 1075's full out running 120 ish, 42 MTI at 3/4 running the same, what do think is going to last longer?? difference in ins. is far less then strain on the Fountain motors and what the cost associated to repair.
both are fun and will always put a smile on your face but if you have always had a V and looking strong at cat, then try the cat you will love it just the same. it is like being a rookie in your first V bottum.
good luck with your choice.
