Which one was this? And why was it necessary to change the interior and paint?

It's not the boat that was in the hurricane. The boat that was in the hurricane had the navigation lights on the side of the hull and cleats on the sponsons where the boat Randy has for sale has the navigation lights on the sponsons and mushroom looking things on the sponsons.

The boat listed was not the "hurricane boat". There were a couple of the 500 EFI Vortechs. This boat was the first of those. Nothing to "be careful" about on this one.
