Those are the #7M's. The boat had Bravo's and the new owner purchased it and immediately converted over to the Arnesons.
The engines stayed in their original location with that boat. They are on a drive line setup. I rate them at 850 but there are a lot of guys with 1,000 hp running them. That Nortec had 525's and they are going to add a Whipple to them and make ?? 700?? Pricing? Start to finish including trans? email me if its better suited for you. - A. [email protected] |

To me that's the only way to go...Also no hop at any speed.

how does the boat with a notch and ASD7's run compared to non-notched?

Both have way different power also. 525's vs 1050's. Fountain4play is converting his hull, Supposedly hull #1 over from Bravos and he has a notch that is different sized than the notch that is on the one in these photos. I guess they tried a few different configurations before they got it right. There is an insert in the mold I belive to make the notch. The 525 boat was not affected by the notch for installation so I don't see it being an issue as far as performance is concerned. |
how about handling and running attitude being affected by the notch: X-dim, flow to the props, etc.

They said the boat ran fine. They never mentioned any concerns with the notch. They sea trialed the boat in FL and it ran 85 mph tops with the Bravos.
Trucked it to Canada, and changed drives and were adding Whipples to up the power. Got one run in and the weather was getting cold. They were going to pull the motors to upgrade the HP. I don't expect the notch to be of any concerns as the drive is mounted at the correct height and that is all that matters for an Arneson. How large is your notch? |
85 tops?

112?

I was going to ask if that was the old Hooters race boat that sold on here for 59995

Certainly looks like it. Says 95 mph with the 525's and this was a race boat, probably no cabin.
I sure thought they would have done a better job on putting it together than that. |

If it is the same boat, I was told by NORTECH that it did 114 with 525's and XR's when it left the factory. Wonder where the lost 10mph went.

Installing Arneson's would be real easy on yours then.

Rik Has any one done the asd6 bravo conversion on a 36' spectre or a 36' Gladiator or the #7s. Got pictures?

V bottom would like the attached photo on a stagger. I have a 36' Spectre, gotta get photos of it. That is the hardest part, getting photos from people. I won't even bore you with the cell phone photos. Spectre has 800 Cobra's or so they claim. I'll have to follow up with them and find out. |
When you talk to the guy with the spectre ask if its for sale : )

Just got another call on my boat asking if it was still available. Apparently someone told him is was sold already.
Still available, still running great, just wish I had more time to use it. |
the nortech 36 with 525's is a 100mph boat not 95mph

Family picked up a 35 Strike CC. Currently asking $215k OBO. Storage space is tight, but our neighbor is letting us use her boat slip when we have the NT in the water.

What you can ask-$200k+
What you can get-$125k Sorry, it's not the boat, it's the economy. just answering your question from a year ago |

If you have a lead on a Nor Tech like this one for 125K pm it to me and I'll buy it. Best deal I've seen so far is the yellow one at Lotto with big motors and #6's for sub 200K.
Even though rare, if it did sell for the asking price of 199K, how much would you deduct for older, less power, and xr's? I don't think 74K less is out of the question. |

I'm thinking kanedog is in the ballpark. The asking price of that Lotto boat you're refurring to was 199K. Asking price and sale price are typically two different things. Not too many boats sell for the asking price. That Lotto boat was a couple years newer with low hours on big power and 6's.
