Whats it worth??? 36 w/XR's

Im looking to sell the NT and get more into racing. What is a realistic price for it?
'04 36 supercat, 525's XR's w/extended Warranty until dec 09.
135 hrs since new. tiger 5 man intercom, myco trailer,
Imco boxes/steering. 104+mph
All white with blue interior.

I know that there are people on here that hate XR's, but I'm only running 525's, and 6's arent needed. I had an issue with a faulty cone clutch, rebuilt under warranty last year. Also had a CMI header leak into the engine, it has been rebuilt and the headers replaced with stellings.

Not trying to insult you. Not even a player. I know the boat. In this market, I'm taking a swing.

I hope he thinks so. I really didn't want to offend him, he asked.

I have read many of his posts and I bet he's cool. Don't need to lose a potential S. Fla friend.

pretty SOB

LostinBoston 05-01-2008 11:16 AM

I appreciate everyones input, but i honestly think its worth more then 200 right now. It has very low hours is clean and a warranty until december 2009, thats a year and a half covered.
I find myself in an insteresting situation though. There are no other used NT's like this on the market, so I'm not sure how to price it or what boats to compare it to. Its not like an eliminator 36 (which is what I looked at before getting the NT). Maybe its kind of a niche boat waiting for the right owner?
The other problem is insurance. If people can afford 10-18k per year (if they want insurance, an umbrella policy is another option) then they might want a more powerful boat. Kind of like getting a gsxr1000 for your first road bike.
This would be a great 1st offshore cat for someone with small cat experience or offshore V hull experience.

Full paint, 1 year newer for 289K might be the closest comparison but it has been listed at that price for over a year.

I think your boat is very sharp and they are asking more than 200K for 3600's with no power. Good luck in the sale.....

Why, I'm only running 525's. With bigger power in it then yes, or if the new owner wants to whipple it then the ASD conversion would be an option. This boat would be a great candidate for the ASD converions because it does not have a notch.

Boatlesss 05-22-2008 12:24 AM

While it might be a great boat, not doubting that, you cannot sell boats like this with Bravos.

Reason the hulls with no power are priced like they are is because they have #6's and there is no power limitations to consider. if someone wanted to up the power they would have to spend over 100k just to change to #6s and that is on top of what the boat cost.

if it aint a deal no one is going to go through that much work.

you can easily throw on some ASD-7's..great alternative at a fair price that can handle some big power as well.

Boatlesss 05-22-2008 11:24 AM

Yea that would be an excellent move and probably make the boat faster in the process.

Unfortunately, you just cannot sell a boat with Bravos, bravo derivatives or these band aid drives as no one wants the headache of constant breaking. if he is not breaking them its simply because he is not using the boat like the next owner would want to. he had throttled himself back because of the drives and i bet this taks a lot of fun out of the boat. The #7's would probably cure this problem

LostinBoston 06-18-2008 02:40 PM

So is every boat that is for sale that currently has XR's unsellable? Every boat with XR's needs to upgrade drives? For $100k more then I'm asking, you might be able to get an 04 36 NT with 6's, but not one thats under warranty. Some people dont want to deal with big power, or pay for it if they're not goign to use it.

berns29scarab 07-15-2008 09:29 AM

not any boat with bravo's...but cats and bravo's dont mesh well. even with the 525's especially in a boat with the weight of the Nortech. just a very tuff boat to sell in an even tuffer market. as i said earlier a definately gorgeous boat

berns29scarab 07-15-2008 09:33 AM

id betcha the only reason this boats been for sale for so long is due to the bravo's

http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o15150-en.html

Jupiter Sunsation 07-15-2008 05:44 PM

LostinBoston listed his boat for sale for 240K on another site. I think he will own it awhile at that price.

drypipetiger 07-31-2008 05:42 PM

Has this boat sold? If not where is it listed?

NEW BOAT DELIVERED!
Must sell this one.
Make an offer ASAP!!!

Single With Twins 11-05-2008 06:57 AM

I think that the 36 with 525's would be great to start with to get comfortable with a cat if you have not owned one before. The XR drives however are the weak link...........I don't think Nor-Tech will even build an XR boat anymore. (might have to be confirmed)

There was a very nice 2005 36 with 6's and 525's asking 250k so to be asking 240k for an older boat with XR's is going to be a hard sell for sure.
Personally I would say the boat should sell for 195 - 200k but that is just my 2 cents........Good luck with the sale and congrats on the new boat.

Jay

Here is what the other Bravo boat was converted to.

roofer 12-03-2008 12:54 PM

I know it is an old thread. I was reading and wanted to let you know your nor-tech is smoken boat. Good luck with it. The motor and drives are never going to break and are reliable.

NO MERCY 12-03-2008 01:22 PM

Rik, which of your set up is that?
what does a conversion like that cost start to finish?
and what power will they handle?

Did you have to move the engines forward to install transmissions?

Rik 12-03-2008 01:49 PM

Those are the #7M's. The boat had Bravo's and the new owner purchased it and immediately converted over to the Arnesons.

The engines stayed in their original location with that boat. They are on a drive line setup.

I rate them at 850 but there are a lot of guys with 1,000 hp running them. That Nortec had 525's and they are going to add a Whipple to them and make ?? 700??
