Want to say thanks to Shogren Marine and the Nor-tech factory for making me a great deal on an awsome boat. Just bought a 2007 36 nor-tech w/1075sci's. Would like to see some pics. of other owners rides. Here some of the one I just bought.

Beautiful boat! Your rig used to have 700's and NXT's. They changed out the power and drives?

jayboat 01-22-2010 11:50 AM

Great looking boat, congrats.

Where do you boat, living in Ogden? (I'm too lazy to look on a map.)

duke252 01-22-2010 11:53 AM

MJT, where you keep your boat at L.C.? It is one beautiful ride!

We run out of Jamestown. We are on the same dock as Predator (50ft NT Cat).

bbaur32 01-22-2010 03:39 PM

I bought the boat with no power and am having the factory rig it with 1075sci, tranny and #6 drives. Out here I boat on lake powell, lake mead, and lake havasui.

Thank's for your compliment.

Own a houseboat at Conley Bottom but spend alot of time up at your end of the lake (State dock or Harmon creek) if the water permits.

Lot of trash early this year.

What color is your 353?

Love your boat! I was curious, especially about the drives. Would seem to be a better deal to buy a boat already equiped with 6's rather than an almost new boat that was rigged for nxt's?

I believe they are the same pattern on the transom if I'm not mistaken. Pull the trigger on Perfect Storm. I was just looking at your other thread.

Too late, Chuck. Perfect Storm is coming up to its proud new owner in Canada. Make sure MYCO gets those mounts for the front of your trailer done. Raymond is ready for you!

bbaur32 01-26-2010 10:31 PM

The boat had no power or drives just an empty engine hatch begging for some big power. Easy to rig while it's @ the factory. Made a good buy on the boat and the refeshed power.

Perfect Storm wasn't the one I was considering Chuck. But that has to be close to the first 36 ehh?

As with the other thread I was just curious if the hulls have been tweeked since the 03's, 04's, and 05's.

Apparently no one's talking.

Hope you and the fam are well.

Neil

No, Shorgen must be using the new pics. of mine to try and sell some Nor-Techs. They are installing my 1075sci's in the boat as we speak.

That's interesting. They also have pics of the purple 36 with 850's that last I knew Randy had for sale. And they have a higher price on it then Randy did.

Boat looks awesome btw.

How many Supercats do you see out there in Utah? Hell how many Nor-techs do you see??

Are the motors in yet? Where will you take it?

bbaur32 03-18-2010 06:03 PM

I have never seen a Nor-tech in Utah. Hell I've never even been on a Nor-tech, they just looked cool so I bought one. Motors are in now and they should be lake testing first of next week. So hopefully I can pick it up the week after. 1st trip will be Desert Storm in Havasu.

Catmando 03-18-2010 06:52 PM

36' is the perfect size for lakes. MTI thinks so too. Their new 36 was designed for lake use. And you'll get a discount on your insurance if you take a performance boating course.

Post pics and vids asap of Havasu please.

bbaur32 03-19-2010 02:33 PM

I'm taking the Tres Marin course while down in Havasu. I will put of some new pics of my boat when I get it.

its right at 39 feet..

salesmanship 03-22-2010 06:16 PM

Jeff,
39' ?
Your referring to the Nor-Tech right?
There was a 36 MTI tied up next to our 36 at the MIA poker run.
Big difference in size. I guess their boat is a real 36.

Catmando 03-22-2010 08:47 PM

I think he means the MTI is closer to 39' than 36'...

I took it the other way, that the Nortech was 39 feet....

the Nor tech is close to 39.... correct? mine was anyway...

bbaur32 03-23-2010 10:28 PM

Dam this boat just keeps getting bigger! First the website says it's 36 LOA. Then I was told by my dealer it's 38 LOA, now it might be 39 LOA. Good thing my garage is big. How wide is it? Can't trust the website any more.

salesmanship 03-24-2010 07:56 AM

It's still 10' 9"

bbaur32 03-24-2010 09:47 AM

So how long is the boat?

salesmanship 03-24-2010 10:35 AM

The running surface to the drain plug is 36'.
With the transom overhang it's closer to 38'.
We marketed and sold 4 or 5 boats as a 36 before the boat was ever finished. By the time we were done, oops it's really about 38' as most other builders would measure. However we did not want to go back and change the name for whatever reason. So you get more for your money.
It's very close in size to the MTI 39 rather than their 36.

bbaur32 03-24-2010 11:04 AM

Great, thanks for the info.
