158 on 900hp not happening.
I had a 36 and been in several others. Bravos at these speeds are no faster than a merc 6. The prop size.efficiency. is way faster than a bravo prop. The 36 race boat was not a fast boat. It was slightly lighter. With 1200hp/side thee 36 will comeclose to 160 mph. But with 900s 145mph is max.:bsflag::bsflag:

King, Could be a hickup in the GPS, so I'm staying neutral, however the 3% @ 158 mph ? with the info provided 9% @ 148 seems more realistic with this setup.

Bring along a couple pals with secondary GPS's and put the doubt to bed.:evilb:

Mr buttonhead says the 36 NT race boat was not fast. Yes compared to a Skater 525HP = 130 mph. My NT with 525s did 115MPH all other 36 NT are 6 to 9 MPH slower. So with 900HP in a stock NT vs 900HP in my NT the difference is 13mph maybe more being that the hull is more efficient at higher speeds. Since you say 145 is max with 900s in a stock 36NT add 13mph, What do you have?????? I also said my slip is 5% NOT 3-4%. Till summer comes and i can get video of my speeds and take more people out for rides i`am not sure why SOME people don`t like the FACTS!

I was talking 145mph in your 36.a non race 36 runs 138-140mph on 900's. A non race 36 with bravos runs 114mph per sweets. I love the nortechs but this is what they run fact.a 388 skater race with 525's and 6's runs 133mph prop stop:bsflag:

bring on summer

P ROB you still owe me drinks..... it's faster than our slug....and faster than your guess of 130-135 max.... though truth be told wish you where right... but your not...
:( is it time for a road trip? it is F ebuary :O

Button head: you do the math.....

115mph with 1200hp = .0958mph / per hp
1700hp X .0958mph = 163 mph
only variable not accounted for is wind resistance...but the boat is lighter the faster it gets....

1200/2 = 600/side (real 525 fly wheel hp on the dyno)

900 dyno = 850 in true marine trim X2 = 1700hp (as they sit in the boat)

now I'm going to get some popcorn.... later B

I dont think it works like that....:party-smiley-004:

The MPH/hp decreases with speed due to increased wind resistance and friction. Might very well be .0958mph/hp at 115mph, but it probably isnt the same at 160+mph.

I have no opinion on whether or not the boat really does 158mph, just pointing out some flaws.

Cabin Fever

SK,
It's good to see BL hitiing the big numbers, but you know me seeing is beleiving anyway not to hijack his link, yah it's getting close and I'm getting the itch to say bring her down but given the recent weather I think I'll sit tight and wait till the weather looks more favorable.

I'll bring the Captain Morgan's this week.

P ROB
