Had a good trip to Ft. Myers, CashBar joined me. We got out on a 340 Sport w/ triple 300's & also a tour of the Nor-Tech facility courtesy of Mr. Sobo. A very informative & well worthwhile trip.

TaxMan even got me out on the water Sat, weather was awesome as were the conditions.

Thanks for everyone's input & assistance as I go thru the recon process.

Jesus you can't even go on a sea trial these days without Cashbar! :D

Did you like the boat?

NASCAT 09-14-2014 09:04 PM

Would you bother to tie up your cash, deal w/ all the maintenance & upkeep of a boat, the gas, insurance etc if you had a seat at every poker run & invite to numerous seatrials??
I WOULD NOT!!

All kidding aside I appreciated Greg making the trek b/c he's seen & been on so many different boats he has an eye for certain things.

I did like the 340, very nice boat, just wish the cabin berth was slightly larger.

Taxman ... ouch thats some rough crowd you where with.:drink:

Saw that one a couple weeks ago, Randy had it at PBC on a lift. Those pics are in PBCs cove. I thought he had sold it, but maybe the guy backed out. Either that or advertising for other builds he has in the pipeline. Very pretty boat.

Interesting b/c Randy told me he had this boat but was sort of keeping it for his own personal use. Color is a deal breaker for me.

He just found out his customer wants this boat sold, 2013 like 10hrs, owner relocating or something & not getting the use out of the boat is my understanding. I'm hunting a Triple or I'd consider

Pretty sure that is Augie Busch's old boat. If not it is identical to it. If so Randy told me it sold already too. Augie rarely used it, he is always out on the cruiser.

NASCAT 09-30-2014 09:48 AM

Maybe AB's old boat but if so it already sold to someone else& it would be that individual that is now wanting to make it available for sale again.

Augie Busch NT is in Annapolis, a friend bought it.(at least I was told it was his) I was on it Sunday. Looks just like the one above. Beautiful boat.

pat

Mentalpause 09-30-2014 10:00 AM

This one must be an identical twin then. It is a pretty boat. Probably not a color I would pick out originally but when you see it, it really looks great.

NASCAT 10-05-2014 03:55 PM

How many of you 340 owners opted for the 12v A/C?
If you ordered another boat would you order the A/C again?

I ask bc it's a rather small cabin so I wasn't sure whether it was really worth it or if any of you actually used it much.

Mentalpause 10-05-2014 05:24 PM

We did not. We only use the cabin for the head. Didnt seem worth the upgrade. You may want to ask Terry S how many they build with it.

NASCAT 10-05-2014 06:18 PM

Good suggestion, although he won't know # built vs actually used which is key for me.

Mentalpause 10-05-2014 06:34 PM

The option we opted for that is not in a lot of 34s is the bow thruster. We use the boat to go to restaurants etc a lot so are always docking, and sometimes in close quarters. We really like that option.

NASCAT 10-05-2014 09:28 PM

Makes sense I'm hoping to be able to manage w/ the triples. Terry said a bow thruster can be added at anytime. Probably not something one would want to watch them do to a perfectly good hull.

Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread & shared your wisdom. You input directly influenced my decision to be a Nor-tech owner & build a new 340 Sport CC.

As much as I'd like to believe Santa & his elfs are working feverishly on my boat, I think a Christmas delivery is out of the question!:party-smiley-004:

Here is the pic Sobo sent me from the day they tested mine. It was delivered December 4 2013, and it was hull 34-36. I figure you are 4-6 weeks out from delivery. So they are in the neighborhood of about 20 new 34CC builds per year.

NASCAT 12-18-2014 11:23 AM

I'm actually most likely a late March completion w/ the holidays & Miami Boat Show figured in & I'm fine w/ that. As you can see I'm hull 34-58, 22 hulls after yours BUT if I'm not mistaken the 34 CC hull is used for other NT 34' boats (like the 320 & 360 MC) so I'm not sure if they use separate numbering system for each hull or 1 continuous since it's from the same mold.
