Default 340 sprt cc - fuel tank question

New to me boat, I see there are two fuel fill locations, one on port one on starboard. Is there only one fuel tank though? Is it simply a matter of convenience that there are fule fills on each side?
I noticed the same thing with the fresh water fill.
Thank you.

One tank with fills on both sides for convenience.

Yeap, one tank that can be filled from port or starboard. If you are filling and keep over flowing at the fill port, open the opposite side to vent the air pressure out and the overflow will stop.
