Where does everyone do their build threads now if not here?
BTW, I am enjoying watching the progress in this one! |
LB4, That`s some great power and I`ve always loved a dual blower set up! :Score-101010:
How much boost in the boat? The engines were supposed to be 1300hp+ before I picked up the build, 380cnc heads flow a lot of air.I told Eddie slow that down as much as possible, Top speed will be plenty, I`d rather have less power and more reliability but Eddie can only slow things down so much before fuel distribution goes to $hit so he`s thinking 1100HP is about the lowest he can go. Good luck on your project! It`s going to be a rocket! |
Currently just messing around with stuff,
I would rather not put in the interior until the engines are in. Air Horn of course, More lighting, trailer and boat. Quick disconnect and new steering wheel. Seperate pickups and strainer for intercoolers. Just keeping busy lol https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3b86321c40.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3227c71010.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...aa23aae603.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e12e6bbae0.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...543e9bb00e.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c12966f41b.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5b051eb507.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ed92155d9e.jpg |
I really like the bluetooth operated swiches. My drives are on the throttles but I want tabs to be easy to control without having to let go of the wheel.
https://www.cpperformance.com/p-1103...t-buttons.aspx CP did not have a bracket for this style steering so Mike at CP made a bracket.. that should be pretty cool . I went down to eddie and picked up a bunch of stuff to be powdercoater/annodized and polished.. those finally went down last friday..apperantly whatever Whipple uses for powdercoat is hard as hell and not fun to strip. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...838ec13465.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dc03d0ba9e.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5b64acf6bf.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c2a8166da5.jpg |

Good luck on your project! It`s going to be a rocket! I told the dyno shop the boost will be 14 lbs, they said Wow we don't think so and on 91 octane, Really. :7160: It turned out to be 14@6500 rpm. It will top out at 15 Max @7200. Funny but there is a double intercooler stack on these 570's total 3 intercooler cores. Intake manifold temp during pulls was 105-107. With the ambient temp at 92 that is a 13 degree rise and Great to keep octane numbers down. So think I can get away with 95-96 Octane. 1/2 oz of Boostane per gallon will do it. Well a 3.3 Whipple is only good for about 900hp a 4.0 for 1100hp, 4.5 for 1300. It is a factor of total CFM flow as well as PSI and they can only spin so fast. 1100 would be good for a single 4.0 Whipple without stressing the package too much. 380 heads are nice size Mine are 375. As long as the RPMs are over 3200-3500 with some boost there is enough air/fuel flow. The bottom of the limit for these bigger heads. Torque numbers will prove that. |

Where are you mounting those air horns to get the sound outside? Just curious. Like the idea of some big horn sounds for getting the dumbass' attention!
|
I am thinking the same thing on the boat. I have them on 3 of my trucks already.

$250 down the drain.
AN firrings are stupid expensive now , as is the hose ($250 for 15') -20AN Ive made a ton of these and last night 3 out of 4 seized midway thru, wont unscrew or tigten, even with heat. I have no idea wtf happened. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e3a4f205f1.jpg |
Was not a fan of these switches so ..

[QUOTE=ICDEDPPL;4924483]$250 down the drain.
AN firrings are stupid expensive now , as is the hose I had issues with Stainless on Stainless fitting. Same on same metals like to gull. Sign of the times Dan. Everything is stupid expensive these days, especially high performance or specialty products. I feel your Pain. Got my second engine on the Dyno warming it up for a few pulls and the MEFI lost spark. Swapped in the ECM from the other engine that ran Great. Tune was totally off for some reason and down 10% in HP and TQ. So Try finding a MEFI 4B ECM these days. Prices for a used one start at 3X what a new one used to cost if one can be found with no guarantee it works. Found out there is major leak down in two cylinders one in each head. Knew the Heads on the engines would not go back on once off again and just ordered 2 new sets of bare AFR's. 6-8 week delivery, will turn out to be longer for sure. Went with the biggest 24 degree heads as the first engine started to lay over at 1345 hp. Great looking switches when finished the boat will be a show piece for sure. |
AN stuff all over ebay and still reasonably priced

The bluetooth switches are pretty cool .
No wires. Now I have Tab control on the steering wheel. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e5bf645f5c.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...874b64a784.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e9412a7df6.jpg |
Try anti-seize on the AN fittings. Used to prevent galling on similar metal threads and corrosion on dissimilar metal.
|
Be interested on how those bluetooth switches work, if there is any delay. They look good.
Looks like you just have trim both, rather than individual? Do you have DMC drive sync on just the drives or or both drive and tab? |

Wally, I`m sure there is a battery in there.. blootooth as mentioned.

How are the new engines coming along? Will she be ready for Memorial Day Weekend?
|
This is where the engines are at .. memorial days isn`t a posibility ... maybe 4th of July.
After they get done, I have to drive to TN. to pick em up and then rig and install them , there`s at least 2 weeks right there. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ccf8482bf.jpeg |
