I built a shelf to set the unit on so I can still keep my sun shade, umbrella, and noddles under the AC unit. The shelf was made in two pieces of Stair tread, Back to back, & doweled. Carpet install and bolted in with Aluminum angle. THe AC also has a suction check to drain the water.

I'm glad this is done. Worked great last weekend. Sucked something up at the marina and had to clean the strainer. Also when we were out in the Bay about ten miles out I had a alarm go off with high water temp. I stopped and found that I caught a base ball cap on the nose cone and blocked the water. Glad that was all that was.

Linster. Nice Install !!

question.....doesn't the precipitation hose running from the pan need to be on a downhill pitch to let the water drain? looks like yours in going uphill with some type of filter attached ? Do you have a pump for this ?

Re: A/C in a heat

No, the outlet discharge from the unit is out of the top. The pan is drained by Mermaid condensator. Works great, sucks water up via the check valve you see and includes it with the discharge from the unit. NO water draining in the bilge. About a $175 piece but worth the $$$.

Most boat manufacturers do not install very well. They put 2 large grills, blows the cold air out on the floor & not the high spot as recomended. Still works but not as good.

Linster, how well does the condensator work? Curious if it makes a sucking sound while working.
I'm installing an AC unit now and am faced with the same situation as you, keeping water from going into the bilge.

Also, where did you get the 3 and 4" vents?

Thanks
