Magic, we calculated 850hp based on fuel usage at near 5000 feet elevation. I wasn't able to run a data log at Havasu which is 600 feet which equates to an 18% increase so I'm assuming a lot

Steve, the X dimension is the same as all the others as far as I can tell. It would indeed be interesting to try an IMCO lower to see what it would do.

Thanks Jim...
I'll pass that on.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
At 97 that blunt XR case can't be too efficient. I'm glad he's not blowing out. The prop man must know what he's doing.
The faster you go, the more they (nose cone cases) help. In
my case just one MPH, but Jason is 10+ MPH faster.............
Just a thought. Looks like you guys will be seeing 100 soon!
Best Regards,
Steve

That awesome 850 plus HP. That elevation has to be a kick in the seat of the pants!

Hi Dave:

Glad to hear you had some fun in Havasu. You guys are pros, taking all obstacles in stride. Congrats on third prize. Did you know the other Rtech boat (Colby's 28 Profile cat with 525EFI) won second prize? Is there a pattern here, can I use this as a selling feature?

Just yesterday we tested a stock 540 bulldog (500 HP) with the same supercooler, a Vortech V-4 and a Nickerson carb. It made 850 corrected HP @ 5400 RPM (804 observed HP with 90F air entering the blower). The only tuning we had to do was adjust fuel pressure and reduce plug gaps. Your numbers will be better with aluminum heads, roller and more RPM.

Hot Boat came and took pictures of Colby's boat. I'm sorry we didn't get Jason's boat hooked up on that deal. Maybe next time.

Tom

Hey Tom,
I was sad to get your voice mail on Monday morning
I ended up taking Thursday off to prepare for the run. I sould have given you my cell number.
Good numbers on that Bulldog for sure. Figure on Jason's with the Valako full worked Canfields, roller cam, 5900 rpm etc, we are probably around the 1000 mark. Jason said as far as he could see he was only pulling 7-8 gauge lbs which is what we were pulling up at elevation but only showing 139kPa. I'm sure he was closer to 160kPa at Havasu.
(I think we bet a beer on that one )

So if you have an R-Tech you get good poker run cards and a whole lot of hp ;o)))
How can you miss

Thanks for the fun,
Dave
