I think when Nordicflame is done tuning his boat, it will be one of the fastest! What about Dwane's boat, it's got 500 with blowers doesn't it? I bet it hauls the mail also.

The one we built has 500EFI's stage 1 ProChergers 5lb boost with XZ drives did 107 drives didn’t last long (easy) 5hrs. After that I we studded the heads, 3 ply head gaskets and redid the ECU leaned out the low end fattened up the top end and put IMCO drives now 101 whenever you want.

FYI, I recently installed Whipples on a customers 353 Fastec with 525s. This boat is really loaded with every option, A/C, genset, holding tank, etc. I tested it before and after the install. 78 on gps before and 89 after with labbed Maximus props. That is at 680 ft. elevation and 85 temp.

And I still have the good old Flamethrower, 10 years old now.
Rebuilt heads on each engine at around 400 hours. Among the things I've learned over the years, is that my boat is right at the limit of what is practical with Bravo XR drives. Get any bigger, or more horsepower, or go to a cat, and forget Bravo's. Never had one outright fail or grenade, but I've had two do around three rebuilds over the years at $4k a pop. Last time one failed we had just finished the Catalina Ski race with a second in class and were headed to the dock. Boat wouldn't slow down, hit reverse and throttled and it continued up the dock and hit key off quick. One drive was stuck in forward gear. But she made the race so I was happy. Pesky Varmint |
