I just purchased a 07 28 HEAT. I love the boat other than those damn warning horns. The warning buzzer goes off twice quickly, waits a couple mins and does it again. When I go to WOT it stays on continuous. I've got good oil pressure, drive oil is full, and fluids are to specs. The dealer is 100 miles away a pain in the ass to get the boat to. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Prolly have to take it in and get it scanned, but just thought someone on here would have an idea?! Thanks for your input!

Check your mercury (assuming Merc) manual. Mine says that two beeps 1 second long indicates low drive lube. Although you stated it's full. As far as the steady beep at wot - there are a bunch of culprits. The most obvious is over rev. What rpm does this happen at. Any local merc dealer should be able to scan diagnostics and should cover warrantee. Good luck with your HEAT.

yeah....that's what my merc manual says too...however with the drive oil full...shouldn't be doing that....my boat runs WOT at 4800 now(only 13 hours) seems to do it after running for a while....also after it gets warm, when i turn the iginition to the "on" position it doesn't beep...which it should...think im on my way to the dealer tomorrow...thanks alot ray

my 525 runs at 155 according to my gauge.
That may be your problem. Does the buzzer turn off once you come off full throttle. If overheating it would stay on till motor cools. My manual says cooling temp should be 160. (Under specifications) Play it safe and bring it to a service shop. You don't want to destroy a brand new motor. Good luck and when you find the problem - let us know.

Your water pump impellar might be ready to go.
Have you hit anything or sucked up a plastic bag?
Sand bars are another hidden demon as well.

You might not be pulling enough water at WOT.

THAT IS WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE BUT THE DEALER SAYS ITS ELECTRICAL. AT WOT IT IS CONTINUOUS AND AT LIKE 3500 RPM IT JUST BEEPS TWICE....WE'LL SEE!
