Default What is the best way to clean the rub rail?

Hey guys my rub rail is dirty. Should I replace it or is there a way to clean it up. It is a off white color yellowish. Any help would be great. By the way it is a 04 nordic heat

I used Magic Eraser on mine. Took a long time but I was able to get most of the scuffs out and cleaned it up nice.

Laquer thinner for one more option.
All work well but the best so far was just replacing it.
$175 from Nordic and my wife and I for an hour and a half and it looked like it just rolled of the showroom floor

John,
Mine had yellowed significantly when I bought the boat. I also replaced the insert, purchased from the factory. It was to me, a huge improvement.
Since then I have been cleaning the rubrail and insert with Armor All cleaning wipes.
Regards,
Steve

Magic Eraser is by far the best and easiest solution!

And they don't put the white rubber inserts on the new boats anymore. They are stainless now.

I've had great results with Soft Scrub (with bleach), and one of those green semi-abrasive pads. Just did mine this weekend -- and looked like new.

I haven't tried magic eraser -- but will give that a shot.

Majic Eraser works but is slow and takes a lot of effort and pads. Best for spot touch ups. Soft scrub with bleach and an abrasive pad is faster.

I was nervious about using harsh solvents like acetone/laquer thinner on this plastic / rubber rail. How does the rubrail hold up over time when using these solvents to clean it? Years?
