Default it's a sure sign of Spring when..............

There's a new motor in the hull ......
Thanks to my friends at EB Marine, Eric and Troy for another great job. This one's got more bling to it, and I hope a little more zing too .
I was concerned about this bigger blower (BS871) with a 3" Gilmer belt drive fitting the in the engine compartment. It is tight, but with some minor hatch mods, it looks like I'll be OK.
Should be on the water in a couple of weeks.
Regards,
Steve

Im glad to see the motor fit. You have to give me a call when you run it and tell me how it went. Good luck that thing is going to be a beast.

Steve

Who did the reprogram? I was not aware that the 575 could give that much fuel. How much boost? Any DYno #'s or maybe I have not keep up.

Eric reprograms my ECU. He has modified several 575s, so he has good baseline maps, including my own, to go by. The throttle bodies could be bigger. The injectors do flow plenty of fuel for the CFM. We may tackle that later. However, it didn't have any problems turning 6000 RPM last year. Actually, we are after a fatter, flatter torque curve, so I can run bigger props at lower RPM. I have a nice 32" B1 that was my fastest prop LY, but a little "tall" for everyday use. Hopefully that can become my new "daily driver" now.
As far as dyno #s go, I am leaving that up to the boat and the water. With my and Bob Loyd's HP to speed formula (17HP = 1MPH), I can figure out how much more HP it's making, even though I don't have a perfect picture of what it was LY. As high as 93 octane gas is going to be this summer, that may become my new rev limiter ................
Regards,
Steve

Thanks John,
Hopefully it will. I will post some #s after we get it dialed in and broken it.

Steve

Wow Steve that thing is sweet. I hope you get all that you hope to out of it. Looking good. I'm getting mine out this weekend for some water testing. It's going to be like 47 and sunny. BURRRRRR but I have to make sure that all is well, and I did a good job on the install. post some numbers when I get back.
