Nordic Power Extension Nav Light
I assumed I read it here but now cannot find the post on how to attach the bottom of the power extension rear nav light on Nordic so that it is not free to move and become damaged or damage the deck. I looked at the light and it is next to a piece of plywood but the assembly is a plastic housing and is not obvious as to how to attach.
I am interested in hearing how anyone successfully attached the bottom of this light. |
I just had to replace mine. Mine had a L bracket similar to a plumbing strap that was mounted to the light and then down to the boat. It may be differant in a Rage, I don't know.

Where did you get your new nav light from? Mine is intermittent now, haven't had time to troubleshot it yet, but just in case it's going bad..... Thanks, Dean |
Where and how does the L bracket attach to the light housing? I am looking for an attachment point/mechanism that I can use.

Where is the specific mounting hole? I may have one but just can not see it the way it is installed

Mine had a specific mounting hole in it. I guess if yours doesn't you could possibly use a hose clamp to secure the strap to the light then mount the other end to the boat. Just a thought.

If you think yours is hard to get to you should see how tough it is in a Flame w/2 engines. You have to send in a small 6 year old that knows how to use use tools. |
Thanks.
Yes. That has to be a real challenge.

It is right on the side of the motor about 2 inches up from the bottom.

I am on my third one as these pieces of junk from Innovative lighting keep breaking. I removed the last broken auto retracting one and am replacing it with their manual light. However, I can't seem to get the wiring right. The boat has a gray, green and red wire and the light has a black and red wire. No matter which combo I use I either get no power to the light or constant power even with the battery off. Any ideas?

3 Attachment(s)
Maybe this will help. I've replaced mine also. I installed the 4 foot model instead of the 6 foot version, thinking it would be more stable when extended. It tells you the wire colors and what they are.

Perfect. I see how it mounts at the base. Thanks Raytart.

One of the wires should be your power for the extension mechanism. Pull the panel off the back of the controls and see which wires come off the back of the switch. Turn the switch on and pull one of the wires off, if the light goes down, you've found your mechanism power. If the light goes out, you found your light power. If that doesn't work, buy a new extension light and hook up the same three wires. |
