The new guy...
Been a lurker on OSO for a couple years and figured it was about time to step out of the closet. My first two boats were Laveycrafts (21 XCS w/ 7.4mpi & 24 Nu Era w/ HP500). In September we got rid of the 24 Lavey and became proud members of the Nordic Navy!
I could not be happier with our decision! The boat has been absolutely awesome and Nordic's customer service has been second to none. This is our first cat and man, what a different animal then a v bottom. Now that I have been spoiled by a cat I don't think I could ever go back to a v. The boat LOVES rough water and the ride is buttery smooth.
Now I just need to find some extra money to throw some more power at this thing. It definitely feels like it would handle MUCH more power with ease. I figured you guys could help be bad influences in that department. Starting with small projects for now though. I just picked up a new set of gauges and will be switching out the white Nordic gauges for Auto Meter carbon fiber series gauges w/ GPS speedo.
It feels good to be a member of the Nordic family!

Thanks. We do our boating at Lake Havasu.
How has that Whipple been on your 496 mag? This is one of the routes I am considering going for additional power. How many hours do you have on the motor after the Whipple install? If you had to do it over again would you Whipple the 496 or go a completely different route on the motor?

My motor has been gone through from bottom to top so it's not a good comparison for a stock 496. As its sits its got about 100 hrs on it. I am a firm believer in surperchargers! They let you have a nice mild motor around the dock and at cruise and a BEAST on the big end. You could go supercharged just don't get greedy, keep the boost low. I did a Raylar install on my buddy's 496 with very good results, it might be a good option for you as well. Talk to bobl at Full Throttle Marine, he can fix you up nicely.
