looking for suggestions on what to look for in buying a 2002 28' nordic heat. Boat has 272 hours on it and was bought by a guy at a dealer auction. He has not driven it at all in 6 months. Pictures look clean. Has a 496 with Bravo I outdrive. Is this the typical setup? I would have though a beefier outdrive would be pushing the 496. Not sure if its a HO or not. Asking price is $50K or best offer. Thoughts?

Have the engine and outdrive checked out by a certified Mercury mechanic.
I thought that the 496 motors usually came with the Bravo XR drive, but the boats are fairly light and efficient, so the bravo would probably be fine with stock power.
The Nordic 28 is an awsome, do it all, boat !!

I have a 2002 Heat open bow, bought new. Has 325 hours.
Came with 496 Mag HO and Bravo Ix outdrive, which is still what I have.
My understanding is that is (was) the standard set-up for that
boat.
