Problem at my favorite lake, NO PREMIUM at the docks! My Rage only gets me about 80-90 miles & I have to pull it out of the lake, up the ramp, to the pump then around the other side of the pump to fill up. Sure puts a limit on where I can camp. Why can't they connect the 2 tanks with some sort of pipe or hose. Guess they couldn't sell us expensive IMCO fuel selectors.:lolhit:

They did think about that...
If you had one side of the boat loaded more than the other, then the fuel would drain to that side.. Then there is the problem of which side to put the fuel sender into.

Chris

P.S. I like that Nordic is finally building these boats with a center tank.. though it is smaller than the two saddle tanks combined.. but it should handle better.

I know this is an old topic, but I just realized the Heat I'm looking at purchasing has two tanks... Seems like quite the inconvenience. Anyways, I have 3 questions:

1. How/where do you switch between tanks? Can it be done from the dash? Can it be done while driving?

2. Are there 2 fuel gauges? I only recall seeing one.

3. On a semi-related note, do I have to run premium? Boat has the standard 496 mag HO.

Thanks in advance.

The fuel tank selector rocker switch on the dash switches between the tanks, and the gauge shows the fuel level of the tank you selected. You can switch tanks while running.
There is a high volume IMCO fuel selector switch in the engine compartment that works with the dash switch.
Your motor will on run 87 octane, unless it's been modified.

Thanks for the answers. Should be fun trying to turn the boat around at the gas station to fill the other side...

it's not fun at all... seems like just when you get it all turned around, someone in a minivan swipes your spot.

however, i've found that if you get really close to the pump, you can reach over to the opposite side w/o having to move the truck...
