Thanks, good info Chris. I never totally understood this one though. Not to be negative buy why 29 that's seems like a lot of work for just a foot, unless its a replacement of the 28, why not 30? and give it a better name, doesn't really fit the theme unless they meant Fire Escape? :) I really think 30 is a good size but maybe I just got 2 foot fever. Regardless it does look sweet on the water. We saw it running at desert storm this spring Nordic made some very nice style choices on it with the windscreen, shaped stern, flattened gunwale and intake resembling the Thor as well as many others. I'd love to see how she runs as well, it should be a very efficient hull.

I think it is supposed to be sort of a deck boat on a v platform.
Definately neat looking! Chris |

Mike,
Your boat looks really sharp. Congradulations! Chris |
I looked on Nordics site. It has the same dimensions as the heat. Looks like to me they added a step to the bottom. That will probally help it free up some more. I also do not like to side tanks. That is a great improvement. Someting about the center of the weight being lower should help as well. Great looking boat

Is that a twin step??? After looking closer to the pictures, it looks like paint. Still a great looking looking boat that you will come to enjoy greatly

AND.............air intakes on the side decks  :eureka:! That's a good thing Mike :). Just a little commentary on the need for better air induction on the existing designs.
Your boat looks great! Regards, Steve |

The escape has a twin stepped bottom and has a single gas tank in the middle. This is being built as an open bow model only.. the open bow and the main cockpit area are bigger than on the Heat, and the mid-cabin is much smaller. They are not planning on building a closed bow model of this boat, as it would have less area under the bow than a Heat does. I was given this information by Mike Chandler of Nordic. Chris P.S. I am really looking forward to seeing how this boat performs Thnx guys.....looks like its gonna be a winner:hitit: |
Any updates on how this boat is running?
I woundering about the top end number... have you opened her up yet? Cusious about the advantages of the twin step hull over the Heat's single step. Chris |
