Default Got my SCX upper

I just recieved my new SCX upper.. this thing is extremely beefy compared to my SC upper. I will post some pictures shortly. I sold the SC upper in anticipation of the Whipple Stage IV upgrade I am doing over the winter.

The stage IV upgrade consists of some water mods to get more flow to the inner-cooler, a custom Whipple cam, and a 4.0 supercharger to replace the 3.3 I have now.

Target horsepower is in the 900 range, which should put my little open bow, wake boarding boat, over the century mark.

That is the goal,

Chris

P.S. I will keep you all updated on my progress

I dont think so either... It is going to take me another 170-180 horsepower to get to the speed you are at now.

I am already pushing the envelope for speed on this hull.

With another 180 hp, you would be knocking on 120.

But... I can carry 12 people, and pull a innertube full of kids all day long.... Can you do that?? Hahahaha... I dont think so.

Chris

P.S. Quit screwing around and just put a 4.0 on that thing. You will then have one of the baddest/fastest single engine cats on the planet. If you dont... I will be passing you after next winter.

You'll like the 4.0s!
We installed the very first two and they are rockin pretty good

I'm not sure why it would be needed on a 502 and smallish port heads but I'm sure Dustin has worked it out. Just seems to be a mismatch of sorts.
We are barely working the ones we are running on 540s at 6000 rpm and 5000 feet of elevation

Sounds fun!

Dave,

According to Dustin, the 4.0 is only worth about 30-40 horsepower on my motor (which I am planning on making a 540 or 557 next winter). The main difference is that 4.0 can be turned slower, to make the same amount of boost as the 3.3 I have now. Less speed of the blower equals less temperature increase. We are working with the stock 600sci innercooler, which is not as efficient as the Whipple MOAC innercooler, so the reduced intake temperature by running a bigger blower slower, is a plus.

Hope that makes sense,

Chris

p.s. he will also be looking at how to graft a Whipple innercooler onto my stock 600sci intake manifold as well as some other tricks. Dustin will have my motor over the winter.

Chris, Congrats, I'm excited to here the outcome! Sounds like a fun project Love the V but if you keep going It might be cheaper for us to have two boats and throw our motors in a kitty (cat)
