Default Nav lights on / gauges jump

Odd thing popped up the other night.
When I turned on my nav lights, all gauges at helm instantly jumped up to who higher values. More volts, higher temp, more oil pressure, etc. When I turned the nav light off, all gauges instantly jump down to normal levels.

Seems like a definite electrical issue. Ground?
Any ideas where to look and what to try?
Much appreciated.

Sounds like a bad ground that is being "closed" when you turn that circuit on. Check all your battery connections, fuses, and switch leads. Also make sure the grounds on the factory fuse panel are tight. You may have something as simple as a crimp that has come loose in rough water.

Steve

The gauges on my old Heat would always drop when I turned on the nav lights. Never tried to correct it, but was aware of it.
