Default 100 mile an hour club

well chris i think you are going to be real happy with the 540 with the lower boost you are going to have a very dependable motor. on the other hand eric and i went to the lake while ago hung over from my birthday party last night (good times and great friends thanks!!) but anyway we broke the 100mph mark finely we ran a 32 six blade herring and the boat loved it very driveable and pulled the motor 5800. i wish i had a video to post this prop carried the whole boat so high you could feel the boat dancing on the rear of the pad it felt like you were driving a bass boat. and last of all i would like to thank eric of eb marine for all the help he has given me over the last year with the boat.

Congrats Jerry!

It is a neat feeling isnt it

I have no desire to go any faster in my boat. Just an easier time getting over 100 consistantly, and being able to swing a bigger prop so as to increase my 3k - 4k cruise speed.

Chris

P.S. I love my boat!

Which brings up a good question... Who has over 100 mph Nordic V-bottoms? and what are the speeds?

Jerry - 100+ mph - Nordic Heat Closed bow - 540 with 3.3 whipple.
Nate - 102+ mph - Nordic Heat Closed bow - 598 with 3.3 whipple.
Chris - 100+ mph - Nordic Heat Open bow - 502 with 4.0 whipple

Guy in WA had a Rage going 114.7 with a 572 twin turbo motor..he later put that motor in a Thor...and now goes 142 mph.. The Rage was very unstable at speed

The guy with the Yellow Nordic Heat with the 598 quad rotor motor does 108 mph+ This is with a Bmax drive, a 1" shortie, 1.35 gears, and a merc lab 30 spun to over 7000 rpm.

If you can add more... please do

Chris

Jerry,

32 pitch Hering prop
1.5 gear ratio

3200rpm = 60mph = 7% slip
4000rpm = 80mph = 1% slip
5800rpm = 100mph = 15% slip
