BTW what do you use to keep your bow cover from sagging, it looks great.

Sharp eyes you have there!...the trick to making an open bow Heat/Rage more aerodynamic at speed.

Twin-wall polycarbonite from Crystalite 10 mill thick...cut to fit...the stuff they make green-house walls and ceilings out of...with an adjustable pole snapped in the middle for additional support....and the stock bow cover over it.

Plenty rigid enough to not deflect at over 100mph...and only weighs about five pounds...maybe a little less.

Definately not cheap...around $300...but very effective.

Hey Steve!

But do your deflectors stay up and functional at 100+ ??

These do!!

Thank you Mike Chandler and the Nordic team for listening...coming up with a solution...and then perfecting it!

Chris

P.S. I still say that the winshield ought to be constructed in four peices instead of two...seamed at the outside front corners...and this wind deflecting shape molded into the front two peices....from the factory

At 100+ couldn't say, since my boat runs in the 90s for now. However they do stay up at any speed. They slide into a machined slot. Much better design than the Windaways. I rarely use them anyway, and if I am, it's usually in adverse conditions like rain, so I am normally cruising.
Actually I invested in some new sunglasses that are much better for high speed running, and they have helped a lot.

I am so sorry to hear that Tom.

Where did you buy your boat?

I am investing in LASIK this next week...just so I can get me some cool shades like you...instead of my perscription glasses.

I am just sick and tired of wearing glasses...and all that entails.

Chris

Good bantering with you Steve...I would enjoy coming out to see you guys again this year.

LASIK should reduce the price of your sunglasses by 75% Chris. I am near sighted so I am still paying painful $$$ for my Wayfarer 2s at LensCrafters, but they do help a lot. I get 33% off with a AAA discount. I told them "If that's 33% off, I am glad I'm not paying retail."
Come on down. The season starts early here. Poker Runs in June and July.

Hi Chris, purchased both in Havasu at the Nordic factory.I live in Minnesota so its a long haul. With that,I still love the wind deflectors and may just have to bite the bullet and get yours if I decide to keep the Rage.

wow!!! thank you for that info, i've been trying to figure out a way to keep it flat without damaging the tops of the seats, i hate how much they suck down when running over 50

Thanks for the tip on the bow cover. I will be making something up for this season. I may try another material, maybe thin plexiglass. BTW I had laser eye surgery 20 years ago-before they even had Lasik. I guess its still working! Back then the preferrred method was PRK Photorefractive Keratectomy-thats a mouthful. Anyway it was the best $4000 I ever spent, no glasses for 20 years. :ernaehrung004: Just lately the reading glasses are becoming necessary. Getting old now can't help that.

I had the PRK about a year and a half ago. I was only like 20/90 and 20/100 or so, but now I am 20/20 and 20/25. However, holy wow are my eyes sensitive. Welding even with a helmet on and properly adjusted leaves my eyes burning in the morning, and the harsh Kuwait sun is too much without sunglasses at all times.
