A friend has a 30" 5 blade Herring that runs really well on his Heat. I've never run it..
The 5 blades work well on step hull Heats because the X dimension is high, leaving very little submerged blade area in the water to lift our relatively large singe engine boats.
Mine are very stable at all speeds.
Steve do know what Herring did to your p5x when they worked it over did they add any cupping or did they do anything to flared part of the tube like remove it?

sport , you don't think a drive spacer would benefit much since the x Deminsion is different on mine since it's older and without the step?and also do you think a 26" 4 blade bravo would be a good starting ground for prop testing?

I'm no expert but I don't thank going down is the thing to do on the older hull mine was always a great boat out of the box the way Nordic set it up. My boat had 860 hp and the best prop on it was a 30p stock Bravo at 5500 rpm's and 87- 88 mph. Depending on what rpm you what to run I think a 26p would be a good starting point also elevation will play apart, on mine I used a 30p at 450 feet and a 28p at 3600 feet. One more thing is Nordic laid my 98's transom and stingers heavier because of the hp that was going it so it is probably a little heavier then yours.

Hi Beck,
I just noticed you have a '97. We actually put a 2" shorty IMCO on Butch Fletcher's 96 Heat.
He's a blueprintted Bravo 4 blade and it works well.

Sport,
I don't think they did a lot, because it is a pretty good piece right out of the box.
I believe it was balanced, sharpened, and pitch matched.
